Better than XP, but that's it. And being better than an OS from 2001 is not that hard at all. Windows 7 was a great OS, but lacking behind Linux and OSX (not crucially though) due to the years of setbacks from the Longhorn fiasco and Balmer being a worse CEO than Gates.

I wish someone would compile a "Reasons to get Windows 8" thing of some sort to show the whiners who haven't been following the development just how much of an improvement 8 is. I have fast boot on my computer running Windows 7.

8 still improves on 7 on almost all aspects, it's a straight upgrade with some differences here and options to make it look like your beloved 7 if you wish.
