Meh, it just fits better with metro - it would be weird as shit to have a new unified visual style and to keep using an old design of the logo that doesn't fit with it.

I mean it'd be like if Apple came up with a unified style called "Aqua" that stylized it as being shiny and smooth... then kept that ridiculous old blue face with the scar down the middle sitting around in the interface :v:

There's no guarantee that'll be in future builds.

The same thing happen to 7. You enabled BlueBadge (RedPill equivalent) and it enabled the new taskbar in the 7 Developer Preview, disabled it the old start menu and taskbar would be there. The old start menu and taskbar weren't in the beta.
