While I don't believe it's likely to ever happen, not just in my life time but ever, I'm still well prepared for it. I've spent a lot of time and resources to make sure I was prepared if something did happen. Not necessarily a nuclear armageddon but any kinda of major disaster. Hurricane, earthquake, tornado, anything like that. I just don't believe it'll ever happen.
Only about 1 block from my house there is a nuclear shelter.
But, the overseer is kind of, insane.
You're much safer down there, even with a madman.
Joking aside, this article is really stupid, we have known this for how long now?
If the apocalypse does come about, I'm walking to a safe zone with a bible then getting it stolen and dying after I recite the whole thing to a scribe.
In this day and age we've been building missile defense systems against this kinda scenario, with anti-missile missiles to intercept incoming nukes and destroy the missile before the warhead activates. So the threat of nuclear devastation is lessened by defense systems.

It's also lessened by the fact that the people who are threatening WW3 have no Nuclear weapons and do not even have the technology to build missiles. This is Nepal Muslims we are talking about, who gives a shit?
"A single atomic bomb could kill millions"
Nuclear weapons are really exaggerated these days...
It's actually right. Everyone just thinks all the deaths related to a nuke explosion are from the explosion itself, and not the massive firestorm afterwards which would burn the whole city down.

Don't forget the radiation sickness and the damage it does to reproductive organs. Japan had several generations of Leukemia after fat man and little boy.
Firing a nuke isn't just firing a missile anymore, things have changed and firing a missile in today's world brings a lot more of political and moral arguments with it not to mention shit storms.

Ok, they don't fire a missile. That means they either have to drop a conventional explosive, use an artillery strike or make one hell of a carbomb. Either way, it's going to be a fuckload harder than a normal missile and the fact that they don't have one available either makes it not really an issue.
Nuclear war? That's really slim. Nuclear attack is fairly high simply because of terrorism and extremism, but not actual nuclear war. the only nations with nukes that could kick off a nuclear war are in fair standing, though competitive, with each other, and none of them are at all even close to use of nuclear weapons.
Quit spamming threads freethinker. You got like more than 10 running on the first page.
Imagine a country like North Korea hit the 'launch' button and suddenly a nuclear warhead targets a place in america or something etc etc, would there be a realistic chance of taking it down in the air or something? Or would it pretty much be a count down to your death situation.

With the population dispertion of American cities, the decent countermeasures in place and the shitty missile tech of NK you would be relatively safe. It is possible to shoot them down so it's not guaranteed to hit.

A single nuclear bomb to hit New York would kill roughly 12 million people.
I've prepared myself by playing Apocalyptic games.
The article is fearmongering but I have to admit that a terrorist with a small nuclear bomb detonating himself in the middle of a busy town would be quite bad because of the radiation fallout
North America needs nuclear weaponry for Justin Bieber.
Anti-rocket systems can blow the rocket up, but radioactive crap will turn us in molerats.
brb, buying an old fortified missile silo and living in it.
Let's hope it is recently build. Else it wouldn't do shit.
If it's true, I'm glad I'm not in a nuke hotspot, a country that keeps ass out of everybody's business
Norway is the safe.
brb making mud puddle so i can go on adventures with a radioactive dog.

...NATO!...
:v:
Men, ready your tinfoil hats!
But still, the USA has too much of a hold over the world. This shit wouldn't happen in the near future.

American ABM's systems are Propoganda I belive. Russia has 40 some around Moscow it is suspected.
we'll be okay until this happens

then you should be worried
Luckily we're all prepared.
Remember kids, when you see a bright flash on the horizon, jump to the nearest safe location.
If it's more than a few steps away, just fall flat on the ground, and cover your neck with your hands or your clothing.
Should you be in your classroom, just get under your desk. All US desks have been fortified with lead to make it a safe haven for you and me.
That's right Billy! You too can survive a nucleur war!
Duck and Cover!
Bert the turtle is very alert, He a something something something OMG THAT MONKEY HAS DYNOMYTE! DUCK AND COVER! Oh its okay, Your shell protected you... But we dont have shells so we burn to death...
Thats right kids! Duck and cover and while doing that get a friend behind you to pretend hes buttfucking you.

Well, Possibly if they mean a Atomic missle which has 24 warheads about 100 times more powerful than Hiroshima. All of which split and go different locations, it could easily kill millions
Doomsday clock is at 11:54 pm. If it goes over 11:57 I'll start worrying.
