His smash ball special is also probably the fastest and cheapest thing in the entire game, possibly moreso than Snake's. Though they're definitely neck in neck on that one.
Brawl was so fun, I usually just played as Marth and one friend always played as Meta Knight and only used two moves and always complained saying "those are his only moves!"
Why does everyone think Brawl was slower? Are you saying they lowered the speed of every character in the game? I think it's more likely they made a change to the character you played and you weren't into it, because there's still some really fast characters. Sonic can be annoying as shit. I dont know about Fox anymore though maybe they slowed him down since Melee. I'm liking the sound of this though, I feel like the game's going to have a differently stylized approach with that development team.
its more the floatiness of it than the physical running speed of the characters play melée then play brawl back to back. if you don't see a difference in the overall speed of things you might be lobotomized?
in regards to the sheer amount of content Brawl definitely wins but not all that content was good (SSE) and the core gameplay was a little fucked up still a good game though but not particularly better
It's cool that we'll probably see Tales Of... and Soul Calibur characters, but I can't help but feel the niggling feeling that the one from soul calibur will be the whiny brat from the most recent one.

As someone who favors King Dedede, I can vouch for long delays between attacks!
As someone who favors King Dedede, I can vouch for long delays between attacks!
King Dedede rocked, he was one of my best characters
I love the smash bros series, this is awesome, but for the love of god please make everyone's favorite character playable
Yeah seriously. Fuck having him as an assist trophy.
King Dedede rocked, he was one of my best characters
Indeed. His forward smash was just so crazy strong when you pulled them off.
I really want to see how online is going to work. I am going to assume that it will be very similar to Kid Icarus Uprising. As long as they don't keep track of stats, or at least not keep track of the amount of times you have lost, then I'd say it will be fine. I don't give a crap about W/L but sadly I can't say the same for people I find online and who suddenly disconnect at the first notion of losing.
I don't understand the hate for competitive Smash. The majority of competitive players don't force their rules onto anyone, and honestly it's normally the other way around. Go to any news post for the mod called "Project M" and you'll see people in a constant circle-jerk about how competitive smash "ruins SSB". Play the game how you want to play it, ffs. Most smash players just want a game that can be both competitively viable and fun for dicking around... Aka SSBM. I don't see a problem with that.
this is probably the most correct post i've ever read.
I'm guessing ridge racer is a racing game. Therefore, do we get to ram cars into bowser?
Brawl was so fun, I usually just played as Marth and one friend always played as Meta Knight and only used two moves and always complained saying "those are his only moves!"
This reminds me, they need to bring back sword clanging. It felt so good to have that happen in Melee, made the battles seem way more epic.
FUCKING FUCK YES I hope that, if they do add any Tales characters, they don't go with anyone from ToS2. "Courage is the magic that turns dreams into reality!" would be an amazing taunt, though. Like how Sonic's taunts are. But even worse.
or get the guy from soul calibur to make a character creator for miis
[del]Next Smash Bros game confirmed to be called Super Smash Bros Miilii[/del]
I'm hoping this year they will make more characters with unique movesets instead of being clones of other characters :v: I seriously fucking hated that all 3 starfox characters had nearly identical attacks, they could at least make the characters as unique as Luigi is to Mario. I'm still hoping that Luigi will get his poltergust 3000 though.

I guess I don't think about it very often because I often end up pressing down to make myself get to my opponent faster in any of the games. The 64 version was probably even floatier than Brawl though, thinking back. That might have been the dash attack, I don't completely recall. But Falco was more different in Brawl than he has been in the previous game, but still played very much like a bit of a slower Fox.
Going from melee to brawl, I thought brawl felt REALLY weird at first. After I got used to it, I prefer it now. I've played around 9,000 vs matches according to my wii (in 4 years of college), everyone played it. That comes out to be almost half a cent per match for what I payed (50 bucks when it came out). People say it's not as competitive, but trust me, after that many matches you find some pretty awesome strategies, especially in air game.
But Falco was more different in Brawl than he has been in the previous game, but still played very much like a bit of a slower Fox.
The crucial differences are in the little, not so noticeable things. The stun that his shots do, for example. Or the ability to chain his down grapple about seven times.
I was excellent with Wolf at one point. I found Mr. Game & Watch to be a bit overpowered, fun as he was though.
The 64 version was probably even floatier than Brawl though, thinking back.
nah, you could actually combo in 64.
Namco-Bandai? Toss in a Gundam.
