He was one of most funkiest artist of the 80s. Also he was an awesome songwriter (A lot of his own hits on 80s, Manic Monday by The Bangles, Nothing Compares To You by Sinead O'Connor), and he was truly master of musical instruments (like setups of Linn LM-1 drum machine).
Good Night, Prince. Let the Purple Rain wash away this bad year, and Raspberry Berets will fly in the sky.
he was in hospital only 6 days ago and probably discharged as "just a flu", to go from that to death is p clear of septicaemia.
This is a goddamn shame on such a grand scale.
this and on the queens birthday too
I won't pretend to know much about Prince, even though I really should, but this is still heartbreaking
This was unexpected.
Wow, another one. I didn't expect this at all. I don't really know his music thanks to most of it being blocked on the internet, maybe that will change now. Either way, what a sad last few months.
Wasn't expecting this today. Poor guy, had no idea he was only 57. How many celebrity deaths does that make this year?
i don't know who prince is and if I've ever heard of his songs I wouldn't know it was him

the fact that they discharged him so quickly does disprove the aids rumor that's been circulating for the past couple decades
Traffic around Chanhassen/Paisley Park is nuts!
You guys are really fucking funny. Have some respect.
People make jokes about deaths all the time, this isn't any different. Pull the stick out of your ass.
I thought he was in his mid 30's or something, I don't keep a lot of tabs on that branch of the music industry though. So I guess there's that.
RIP
It'd be quite an accomplishment if someone in their mid-30s today was making pop hits in the early 1980s.
2016 is really scary, especially because a lot of famous people are dying relatively young.
RIP in peace.

It's either sepsis or some other underlying disorder he had.
He did not deteriorate like Bowie. You only suddenly go like this with a serious condition.
"April 21, 2016: The day we commemorated an old Queen living and a young Prince dying."
Who will be King of the US now?
TMZ seems to be the only source on this at the minute.
Everytime I search up for a celeb's death, TMZ is ALWAYS the top reporter. Fuck TMZ for being everywhere, and their early to report on everything celebrities do is creepy.
Sucks that Prince is gone. Will have to look up some of his songs later.

If he didn't contract something during his "fuck everything" phase I would be quite surprised.
He was one of the few people on planet earth you could call a legend and have it be an understatement. He quite literally changed modern music on his own, by his own hand, and also showed in dead to rights plainness that the record industry was just that, an industry and artistry did not need it to survive and grow.
Very very sad day.
Why would it?
was very protective about his stuff, not letting music stores like itunes have his songs
weird al keeps asking him for parodys and hes declining
Why is everybody dying so young?!
RIP.

one thing that has to be said... in the 40 year career, he never took a break. He produces his albums, he plays 70% of the instruments on them... and still managed to find the time to tour the world constantly.

And he was a hell of a basketball player

Prince said that the only untrue thing about this story was that he changed into basketball clothes. He was great on the court:

He also used a picture of Dave on one of his official singles:

Fucking hell, I just heard one of his songs on the radio.
Rest in peace.
Just watched Purple Rain a couple days ago, thought he delivered a great performance. R.I.P.

What the fuck, I had seen his Piano and Mic tour live earlier this year... He seemed so alive...
This dude got tons of traffic to his FB by editing a post he made a year ago today to "Wouldn't it be crazy if prince died in a year?"
