• Student attacked for supporting Trump in mock election

It is rather silly that all the stories i've noticed(i could have missed it? there was one about a robbery that was fake lol) about election related violence on FP since trump's victory have been violence against trump supporters, each gets a reply stating that its "equal on all sides". Thats a statement of fact, and anyone who makes such a statement is probably wrong just because 50% splits are rare let alone being backed up by any stats. Its less stupid to say that we dont know what the real statistics are and that even if we did, we shouldnt make judgements about entire groups of people based on the current situation which may have been different or similar depending on different outcomes of the election. Mainly im just wondering if anyone has any anti-clinton violence stories to post, just go ahead and post it at this point since we're already getting flooded with the opposite. If not then maybe just not post about how its "equal on every side" without even an example to vaguely support you.
Jesus shit I remember when we had mock elections between Bush and Gore and the worst thing that happened was this girl, Sarah, lost her shit because Bush would pollute everything and the dolphins would die. I cut a dolphin out of some gray construction paper and cried because I felt bad for her. The hell happened? How did we go from there to here? I think it's incredibly important that we all step back and consider why shit like this is happening. I'm not advocating violence, and I definitely don't agree with people attacking Trump supporters. But dismissal will only lead to more violence. The same reason Trump supporters on this forum didn't like being dismissed as racists and bigots, dismissing these attacks as just the work of violent thugs, or people mad that they lost, is completely ignoring the issues at hand. There are a lot of people who are afraid for their lives right now. LGBT people are afraid of a party that historically opposes their lifestyle having complete control over the government. Black, Latino and Muslim people are afraid of a president who has spent his entire campaign vilifying them and painting them as thugs, terrorists and rapists. Women are afraid of a president who's bragged about sexual harassment, and a party that seeks to restrict their rights. That fear is amplified by a feeling that bigots and racists are now bolstered by this victory. There are reports flowing in of women being assaulted, black and latino people's property being vandalized with hate symbols, gay people being attacked. True, some of these statements may be fictionalized. But it's probably safe to say that a lot of them aren't. You can't exactly fake a video of an elementary school cheering "Build a wall!" while the latino children stay silent. If you honestly think all of it is fake, why? Do you think these people aren't actually afraid and are simply drumming up drama because they lost? Do you really have so little empathy that you can't understand why people have legitimate concerns about their well being? Now, considering all this fear and anger, it's predictable that many people will push back. They'll return hatred with more hatred. Others may see it as an opportunity to act on hate that they've held in the past. It's wrong, and does more to further divide our country, but you absolutely should not trivialize it. We will never come together if we don't try to understand each other's problems. You need to address people's fears, not dismiss them, and this goes for both sides. If a republican doesn't like the idea of a bigger government, I'd want to understand their fears, debate with them, try to come to a conclusion. I would NOT tell them that they're worrying over nothing. I'll leave you with some questions: Why do you think riots are occurring? Why do you think people support BLM? Why do you think people would shout to kill white cops? Why do you think neo-nazis exist? Why do you think people support the wall? Why do you think people dislike big government? Try to avoid words like "racist" "indoctrinated" "whining" "stupid" Think of it from the perspective of these people.

I'll be waiting
You really seem eager to completely ignore all the problems conservatives have caused within decades past. Even just talking about the LGBT community, who only now has begun getting recognized, now only for a VP to show up promising to tear it all down. and no, don't dare paint this whole ideal as one sided. There have been COUNTLESS hostile incidents at trump rallies. To be fair, all candidates have their share of idiots, the trouble with trump is that he vouched to support their violent actions. Can you show me a single other candidate who has done that? Let's be more frank, Can you show me a single other candidate who supported stripping rights to vast minority groups? Of course, these actions are completely wrong. I do not support these attacks at all. Heck, I came in here, looked at the OP article, expecting some stupid scuffle amoungst college kids. Instead I see an injured 11 year old child. Outstanding. Something has gone terribly, terribly wrong for these things to have become common place. and do you know what it is? Its polarization. We cherry pick bad incidents from one side. Hell, the media is famous for doing this at this point to the point of being laughable (I'll be honest, I do see it more from CNN than anyone else as of late, even fox). So just, you know, consider all sides of the story first

They have nothing they need to protest, no message they want to push, nothing to be afraid or angry about, because they've won. As I said in my post, why do you think people are becoming violent?

How about we all just stop posting shit until we know it's proven? Hell, I've made the mistake in another thread.
Glad to see that you're having a discussion in good faith.
That's ironic. Your trying to pass off unsubstantiated tweets and facebook posts as hard evidence.

For instance, why were there racial tensions?
