yes
Most of the questions they ask on surveys are pretty dumb.
i don't think 2 spirit means quite what you think it does
Where's the bisexual option then?
"I am a homosexual lesbian transsexual" is what I would put
Labels are bad I try to stay away from them but in grade 7 i was SO confused i would never answer it as it would be puting a label on me when im confused Im now 98% sure im "gay" Hormones are fucking wired I'll say that
This isn't surprising considering the other questionairs I've taken in Canadian public school, They give you essentially the same thing every year and most questions boil down to, are you black/mexican/native How many drugs are you addicted to, How many times a week do your parents beat you how many times a day are you sexually harrased how many times a day are you racially harrased how often are you raped, how often do you rape someone, do you feel you are raped because you are black, are you addicted to drugs because you are raped so often and are black?
I got one of those surveys once and I swear to god one of the questions was: "Are you a minority and, if so, are you addicted to any illegal substances?" I threw it in the trash immediately because it was obviously written by a fucking moron.
How many transsexuals are you gonna find in 7th grade?
Busloads of 'em.
What will schools think of next?

schools are starting to get too involved for their own good. My school administers random drug tests to students who don't turn in a form signed by their parents excusing them from the tests.
Also "queer"? "Two-spirited"? "Gay" and "Bisexual" not politically correct or something?
"Two-Spirited" is a Native American term. Many Native American tribes had a special societal place for people who were homosexual, and it's pretty safe to assume that there are some american indians in the school district.

Same with workplaces. The only exemption are safety-conscious positions, like crane operators and whatnot. You could easily fight this, assuming you're Canadian.

I'm not big on the native history and pertaining to the subject of the test it sounded like a synonym for bisexual.
If you say no to the drug test, what are they going to do?
My school (or a teacher) forced breathalyzer tests on kids in his class because someone threw a bottle of vodka or something in his class Personally I doubt it was legal, even though it was cop administered. There's nothing wrong with a survey as long as people's names aren't attached. It's always better to know more about the student population when making decisions.
Are you of Jewish or Latino descent and, if so, are you bullied by other students about how much or how little money you have?
I'm not surprised. The OCDSB has never been known for their intelligence. Or anything really. I understand that it's confidential and voluntary, but why would the board need to know this? Seems like just another way for them to waste money.

North East Philadelphia Born and raised on my computer is where i spend most of my days. Anyway, i'm safe regardless. My parents signed the forms, they also did it for my brother whom they knew did pot. I seldomly, if ever, do drugs anyway. If you test positive for drugs though, they can't kick you out of school for it, they just send you to mandatory counseling.
Former OCDSB student here with useful and insightful commentary on the situation: lol
That is definitely not what I was going at but okay
Even if the census asked for sexual orientation you don't have to answer it. All you have really need to answer is how many people live in your house. This is true in the US at least.
Court rulings in the real world change nothing when it comes to these things, the school will always win and will always keep being an unaddressed tragedy.
So fucking fight it, make a difference.
So fucking fight it, make a difference.
Easier said than done.
I was actually completely oblivious about my sexual identity up until about a year ago. Looking back I was doing subtle things that other people picked up on but I never did. Shit feels weird now.
Also "queer"? "Two-spirited"? "Gay" and "Bisexual" not politically correct or something?
Isn't "Queer" more offensive than "Gay"? I always figured it was. I've never heard "queer" used to describe a homosexual in a good light, it's always been used exclusively as an insult.
this isn't any of their fucking business
Its just a consensus to see how many kids would be interested in the gay and lesbian club.
My school (or a teacher) forced breathalyzer tests on kids in his class because someone threw a bottle of vodka or something in his class
Our school issued a school-wide ban on all bottled drinks after one kid was found with beer in a soda bottle.

Tell me, did you attend high school in BC? And if so, did you attend high school in Vancouver? (Only answer the second part if you answered YES to the first part or the previous box on the scantron)

I like how they wrote heterosexual but then the homosexual option is "Queer". Amerikkka
