Or you could just share things with the rest of Europe.
Or we could just practise some self-determination.
Or you could just share things with the rest of Europe.
How about no? I expect that the taxes that I pay go to the improvement of where I live.
How about no? I expect that the taxes that I pay go to the improvement of where I live.
Then why pay taxes to the British government? Surely they should be going to improve your local neighbourhood?
I'll have you know I am half Polish (With a loose grasp on the language) and what you are saying really pisses me off by basically pointing out that people like me aren't British. I'm glad that immigrants move around the world to dilute old cultures and create new ones, and as the world modernises this process is only going to accelerate. Screw you, you outdated nationalist. Nationalism is an idea that is dying slowly and painfully every day, and I relish in that fact.
You hate nationalism yet you are offended by what he said because you are "Half-polish"? And it's not exactly 'diluting' old cultures when immigrants bring in their 'culture' and don't integrate into British culture. I think that people that come to this country should respect British tradition and values, for too long have British people given into the demands of others in order to be fair.. If you go to any other country they retain their traditions with much more passion than we do. This country seems to favour immigrants moreso than it does it's own citizens
Then why pay taxes to the British government? Surely they should be going to improve your local neighbourhood?
Because improving the country I live in with my money would be a damn sight better than improving somewhere else with it. Sure you can scream "Nationalist" at me all you like, but the fact of the matter is improvements in other countries wont benefit me at all, yet I'm supposed to unconditionally pay for them?
british traditions like standing in a cue? really now i haven't seen any diluting, unless everyone now speaks a mix of Arabic and English. plus you probably enjoy half of the shit that other cultures bring in anyway. tea comes from a long line of trade that span from the globe, fish and chips is part Flemish, part Jewish (we jews have been eating deep-fried fish for ages), yet these are common British stereotypes (according to americans we also smell bad and have shitty teeth). so if it winds down to british culture being just pounds then that's amazingly daft. asian food has been in england for a very long time too so that's just as british as fish and chips.
You hate nationalism yet you are offended by what he said because you are "Half-polish"?
Well seemingly he seems to think that Polish people are somehow inferior to the British people.
And it's not exactly 'diluting' old cultures when immigrants bring in their 'culture' and don't integrate into British culture.
I like how you put foreign culture into "" brackets to show it's different and therefore bad.
I think that people that come to this country should respect British tradition and values, for too long have British people given into the demands of others in order to be fair.
Well it's not like Britain is composed of multiple countries. And had frequent immigration in the past from the following groups: Beaker people, Celts, Romans, Angles, Saxons, Jutes, Norse, Swedes, Danes, Germans, Flems, French... There is no "True British people" unless you count a couple of inbred farmers in Norfolk.
If you go to any other country they retain their traditions with much more passion than we do.
Because improving the country I live in with my money would be a damn sight better than improving somewhere else with it. There's a reason why somebody in Northumberland pays taxes to Westminster, and then somehow has roads and hospitals around them. Paying taxes to the EU will benefit other people, yes, that is very true. What you have to consider is that they ALSO will be paying taxes that will benefit YOU.

You've found yourself an opinion based on nothing and use it to slow down progress of good things because you refuse to educate yourself - I don't get the chance to tell it to people like you much, but you're really selfish and you'd be doing everyone a favour by not having a hand in any political discussion or event ever until you learn to form your own opinions.
