Then, like I said before, you have to say "The gods of the ancient Carthaginians are the same as the Christian god!" because they have the same mythical basis. It's a completely useless line of thought.
Well, then fine. If it's the same lineage, I don't see why it can't be the same basic deity despite having totally different systems around said deity. You can build so many different kinds of gun around the same type of ammunition but it's the same ammunition through and through even though the guns may look and behave completely different from each other. [editline]23rd June 2014[/editline]
I'm not talking about whether or not he was either god or man, but whether he was god at all. If you agree with that, then you agree that the Christian god and the Islamic god aren't the same entity.
Well they certainly aren't the same interpretations of the same entity. But the same entity nonetheless. I'm beginning to suspect that we're having a fundamental disagreement here that cant really be argued out.
I'm beginning to suspect that we're having a fundamental disagreement here that cant really be argued out.
I don't give a crap either way. I should have considered my words more carefully in the beginning of this thread. If bringing these religions together can create more peace somehow, then so be it. But seeing how this is being built in Germany, a country without any serious religious tension, I don't think it's going to do much or solve any real problems.
Even though their gods are different I don't see how it would prevent them from worshipping in the same building.
Kind of bogus, seeing as all three religions badly conflict with each other.
Seems as if you know nothing about religion at all, probably except from what you read from the media. As a Muslim(somewhat), I'm happy to see this. I hope this breaks the barrier of hatred in the west between various religious people. We're all human in the end.
I'm just imagining extremely small scale religious wars that amount to nothing but pranks being pulled. In fact that sounds like a fun idea for a sitcom...

Unfortunately they ruin good things for everyone source http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-27872551
It's awfully small, isn't it? They'll have to make it several times bigger if they want anybody to actually be able to fit inside it.
Well this is a very heartwarming concept, but all 3 religions explicitly state to slaughter/convert people of the different faith, how does that work?
Do you honestly believe that whenever Jews, Muslims, and Christians congregate it ends in a gang-style bloodbath
