You can easily demonize a maximum of two, four-year term serving "dictator" by exaggerating and deliberately making shit up to outrage the world.
Like what? I don't follow the Western media often.
But if we didn't go to war the terrorists would win :downs:
If we showed vigilance in the face of terror, we would've won. They won because we didn't, we failed one of the most important tests this country ever faced. All because of...
Like what? I don't follow the Western media often.
I planned on just making a thread on this since you can literally write a novel on it. Ask I guess? One I can think of right off my head: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/39014669/ns/world_news-south_and_central_asia/ [editline]17th February 2011[/editline] What's wrong with that article?
Except that story doesn't mention Ahmadinejad at all? Nor does one misleading article remotely signify that most of the criticism directed at the theocratic Iranian regime and its key members is untrue? Come on, you don't really believe Iran is a force for good, do you?
And it's well known that Iran bankrolls insurgents. Not really a big deal if they do it on a per head basis.
They're already supplying huge amounts of arms and cash to their proxies Hezbollah and Hamas, who then launch attacks on Iran's enemies. Plus, I'm pretty sure there's evidence of them messing around in Iraq.
Well Vietnam was 65,000 (allegedly) and Wikipedia says the Iraq war was about 110,000 while about a million died when the Soviets invaded Afghanistan and an absolute fuckload on the WW2 eastern front. You are blowing smoke out your ass.
I don't think any nation should be proud of how many people they've managed to kill in a war they fought in.
I don't think any nation should be proud of how many people they've managed to kill in a war they fought in.
Of course not, but his claim was that they had a greater death toll than any other nation. In that respect, it was bullshit.
I'd be interested in seeing the US:Foreign death ratio compared to other nations, though.
The US has been around for a lot longer than many other people so that would have to be taken into account. Civilian deaths, armed combatant deaths, US civilians and soldiers, would be interesting to see. The US would have a lot to catch up on to the Nazi's 20m civilian deaths on the eastern front though.
I love how saying the government was run by big business and just controlled financially was considered weird or crazy around here a few years ago. Now it's just normal and everyone accepts it.
No it's still weird and crazy and don't forget stupid and wrong. There was many events which lead up to the events in Iraq but it certainly wasn't fucking oil or war machines or some shit, crack open a history book. We've been playing games with their regions and toppling regimes for decades. This is nothing new and it never had anything to do with "big business". The government is the one with the guns and the civil funds to buy war machines, subvert nations and like some one said earlier, the buck ends there. They're in control. You're blaming contributing factors for an overall problem which is the government fucking around in regions they shouldn't be fucking around in. That's it. BP didn't lie to the senate and the UN, BP didn't bomb houses with children in it or Reuters reporters and what little BP did do in the past under different names was with full assistance of the government (foreign or domestic). Stop with the hipster bullshit, this is politics not beat poetry or some stupid fucking game.
