Yep and all you gotta do is endure a life-threatening car accident, it's that easy. I feel as some posters here were bullied into depression in high-school and the fact that they "survived" gives them rights to be smug about how much of a pussy she was for committing suicide despite the intensity of her depression being lightyears away from whatever they experienced.
If you call anybody "weak" or "selfish" or any other negative adjective for committing suicide, you're a big dumb moron. Anybody who's gone through depression or lost friends or family to suicide knows that nobody who commits suicide is "weak" or "selfish." It's like a goddamn disease that eats away at you to the point where you just can't take it. [editline]12th May 2013[/editline] Not pointing fingers at anyone in particular, but those hurtful comments on youtube and kickstarter and shit really didn't help. God damn, imagine how awful she felt during her last moments. Thoughts and prayers going out to her family and friends, nobody should have to deal with something as tragic as this.
it's amazing that there are people that still defend this piece of shit site even after all the bullshit that has happened in the past year or two. Let's not forget the whole r/creepshots and jailbait fiasco where people were defending people posting child porn and the admins not wanting to ban those users posting it/the mods of those sections because "freedom of speech" and if you really want a barrel of laughs, check out the MRA subreddit. that section just reeks of angsty teenagers mad at their moms for taking away their 360's because they didn't finish their homework.
I can't believe people generalize all of Reddit as bad when the best and first thing you should do after creating an account is to subscribe to smaller subreddits and unsubscribing from the terrible default ones.
As much as I say I don't sympathize with quitters, this made me really sad
oh thanks for posting this on the first page, made me finding an example much easier.
Suicide is childish and selfish no matter how you put it. Instead of getting help, you choose to end your life earlier than planned. You force everyone that ever knew you to live with the memory of your death for the rest of their lives. And if you're religious, suicide guarantees you a spot in hell.
I can guarantee 100% that anybody who tries to speak on the behalf of people who have tried to kill themselves, can never truly know what it's like. I've been in the situation. And it's like being in a dark room, with your biggest fears but you can't see them. It's the worst feeling ever, it's claustrophobia times a million. You honestly feel suffocated by the smallest issues and every little thing around you has a chance of pushing you over the edge. No one knows what it's like to feel so fucking trapped that you have no where to turn. I'll see if I can put it into perspective. You know when you have a cold, and you're sick? It's painful, and it sucks, and you're sometimes just wishing, "Please, just fucking stop. This is so goddamn annoying." but no matter how hard you try, no matter what you do, that cold isn't going away for a while. Now take that feeling of being cornered, and apply it to everything that happens in your life. You want it to stop, but it won't. And the difference between depression like that, and a cold, is that a cold is temporary. Depression eats at you until you finally snap. Every single thing that bugs you, or hurts you, is amplified 10 fold when you're depressed. My childhood friend of 16 years killed herself right in front of me. It's not selfish. It can be interpreted as selfish from the other side. But just imagine what that person is going through. I honestly think it's disgusting when all someone has to do sometime, is show a little fucking compassion and empathy. Throwing a rope to save someone takes a little less effort than people think. But no, people would rather use that effort to make someone's life a living hell. I honestly want to know what goes through people's minds when they tell someone they don't deserve to live. EDIT: I'm not sure what part of this is funny.

As another user said on an earlier page, suicide isn't selfish, we can leave this life whenever the fuck we feel like it. She tried to get helped from her medical insurer, she was turned away for apparently being a transgender, she tried to get help raise money for an operation or some shit from some indie donation website, they cancelled it for "suspicious activity" Besides, you know absolutely NOTHING about how she felt/what she was going through, so please shut the fuck up and stop acting like you do.

Have you ever felt so terrible where you honestly believed that the ONLY THING YOU COULD POSSIBLY DO was to kill yourself? Have you ever dealt with depressed people? Are you a fucking sociopath that lacks the capacity to feel sympathetic for people? She was dying of cancer, which is pretty painful too. Also, this entire goddamn indiegogo campaign was to get money to GET HELP, like you claim that she should've done. tl;dr fuck you
In a way it sort of is selfish, because you are robbing family and friends the chance of being with you and then another way, I guess it's the only release for some people
You're not robbing family and friends the chance of being with you though because you've already died inside. They just can't see it.
Also as a person who is not only transgender but one who has been through multiple suicide attempts I feel insulted by people who like to belittle what people have to go through.
Rest in peace. This is so goddamn tragic, there's no words for how awful this is.
Also as a person who is not only transgender but one who has been through multiple suicide attempts I feel insulted by people who like to belittle what people have to go through.
People need to have goddamn empathy, and not just tell people who are being belittled to all fuck and dying of goddamn cancer to go kill themselves. "lol who cares its the internet, grow up it's just insults!!!" is generally the response you're gunna get from saying that, though.
People are missing the point. It isn't, "Oh, she was going to die anyways. Better fuckin' do it because I'll be dead soon enough!" How about the fact that she actually took her own life? The fact that people are cruel enough to make someone want to stop living? Look at the bigger picture, if the people that hurt her were decent human beings, I'm sure it would be a much better incentive to live to know that people care about her. Also, just letting you know, that the body does react to "feelings" of depression and happiness. Being happier, and having a positive outlook on things actually does help the body physically. Depression does do things to you physically, without you actually hurting yourself.
I feel like suicide is not as selfish as people have suggested, coming from someone who has tried it before. It's not selfish of other people to want to keep you around, that's not what I'm trying to say, more that if you are suicidal then it will feel like you are the only person that understands, and in your mind everyone else will appear to be the selfish ones because they want you to stay living while you are obviously suffering. It's not something you can place blame on despite how easy it is. At least, that's how I thought of it at the time.
Yes it is. It's selfish of others to want you to endure and live with your pain just so they can be comforted by you being alive or whatever reason they want you to not do it.
I don't really understand people. I dislike certain things like abortion and trans but that doesn't mean I'll wish for someone to die over those who try to make choices for them. I was really hoping she would make this through and it brings a tear to my eye that she lived her last moments in such a saddening and depressing state. It also makes me sad for the people that wanted her dead because she use to be man. I wish people were kinder to each other.
Does anyone know what happened on the stream?
seriously, isn't more fucking selfish that you want a person to live in pain for your own sake? she was gonna die from the metal wound anyways, she only righteously guilted the fucking assholes who taunted her
Yes it is. It's selfish of others to want you to endure and live with your pain just so they can be comforted by you being alive.
People don't seem to get that hurting enough to want to take your own life is worse than the feeling of knowing someone who died. I know this because people who know people that have killed themselves, don't go and kill themselves as well. It sucks for them, sure, but like he said it's selfish to want to keep someone suffering alive just so they can be comforted by you being alive. I completely get that people want to help people with suicide-prevention and things. But in the worst of times, it just isn't enough. And it sucks, because when it happens the people who killed themselves are called weak and cowards.
she couldn't pay for the surgery because indiegogo fucked her over. being faced with a slow and painful death and collapsing under the emotional weight of unfounded rumors and abuse, she chose to end her life.
That's dumb because if it's a life saving operation, even if you can't pay for it, you can still get it, the same way anyone can walk into an ER and get treated

Well I have been spreading the story, to make sure it is known what has happened. I hope an official source writes an article on it soon.

You'll have to pay for it after, but even if it's just a chicken shit amount that you won't notice, as long as you're paying on it, you can get it. Not only that, 'Being $500 short of a life saving operation please donate' sounds 110% like the worst written scam I've ever seen. I'm not going to blame anyone for going HA Yeah Right
Thank You Based God. Swag. (User was banned for this post ("trolling" - Starpluck))
There is only one case I could see as selfish suicide, and thats if you have kids. Those actually rely on you and need you. I cant see any reason that it would be selfish to end your suffering. Sure I cant approve of suicide itself, but saying it is selfish is the most retarded thing Ive ever heard.
Looks like she might still be alive:
^Let's hope for the best. The closed Twitch account doesn't sound good. But you never know.
I hope she is still alive, but if she is found out to be alive she will just get accused of faking it for attention regardless of what happened. For someone who was already pushed to the edge, that bullshit is going to crush this poor girl even more.
I don't think Indiegogo should be blamed for this, sure it sucks that they cancelled her funding but they're only following their TOS. And hey, remember that wheelchair guy who faked being unable to walk then miraculously stands up in a live stream? That probably stirred up trust issues with funding sites. The real assholes are Chloe's parents for disowning her and her insurance company that denied her for being trans (can anyone confirm this though?).
