Russian company selling cargo container-launched cruise missiles to Iran, Venezuela

Oh wow, stop the presses, Russia is selling weapons to people.
For the past half a century weapons and vodka have made up about 99% of Russia's exports, where's the surprise?
Haha anyone else think of Khallos and his rocket train from Timesplitters Future perfect?

I mentioned that above :v:
When I read the title, I thought a Russian company selling cargo containers launched a cruise missile to Iran and Venezuela.

Also, TimeSplitters?
I noticed that they aggressive neighboring country in the animation seemed look rather like the US Military.
And also that this will only make life an absolute nightmare for freight transporters during a war if these things are being used.

That's the point. They want to sell by featuring the ability for a few of these cheap missiles to devastate an overpowering conventional military force.
But it's going to be utterly useless against anything else like SOF and light infantry forces.
only thing I remember from the video is the dongmana :v:
You know, I think they've sort of ruined the whole "unexpected" aspect of this weapons concept by marketing their idea.
This seems really unfair.
When was war ever fair? You have to play dirty sometimes to get the upper hand on things.
This just sounds like a garrysmod contraption...
If terrorist groups get a hold of those, America could be in some deep trouble.
I don't care if these are a threat. They are fucking awesome.
Fuck that. How is that acceptable? Why is every thing today about deceiving and trickery? What happened to conventional warfare? Fuck I hate this guerrilla, insurgency bullshit.
Terrorists will now highjack cargoships, switch the containers, us forces capture it back, take it to home, oh wait containers opening and firing missiles when in US.

Which Is why I am pro total war. Those who fight dirty will get the upper hand. If you have rules, you have an open ability to be completely demolished.
fuck dignity, I like winning.
haha, eat that america.
I'm sure our anti-missile defenses could defeat this easily.
This is why we should fight dirty as well. No more "oh boo hoo we killed a civilian."
This is why we should fight dirty as well. No more "oh boo hoo we killed a civilian."
Well, we need to crack down harder, but I don't think we just need to throw civilians into the wind and shoot everything that moves, a big country like the US should set an example, not be cold blooded murderers.
Affordable >.>

Yeah, obviously lining up entire villages and shooting them is a terrible, senseless thing. However, if there is legitimate intelligence that a man could be an insurgent, we should follow up the lead and deal with him. Otherwise, we could be risking the lives of our soldiers.
you know? Vanga predicted that the third world war will begin in late 2010 in December (._. )

What does that have to do with anything?
All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must seem inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near. Hold out baits to entice the enemy. Feign disorder, and crush him.
Sun Tzu, The Art of War
Even if our enemies got ahold of these, they probably won't be able to deliver the payloads with great accuracy.
People are going to have to be trained in the operation of these systems, and it doesn't really seem like the cheapest system in the world. I'm assuming each container holds just one missile, and I dunno how easy it would be to reload these things. Keeping that in mind, I really doubt an enemy could deploy it accurately and quickly against specific targets.
America has been doing this guided missile thing for a really long ass time. We put missiles in windows and shit. We're able to do so not only because of the technology, but because of our experience with the weapons systems. Handing these things to Iran and such would produce similar results as when we handed the Afghans Stinger platforms. They had no fucking idea how to use them, so most of the systems were wasted. We had to ship them with better instructions and even then, it took them quite a while to figure out how to use them effectively.
venezuela is not in Iran

I agree with the rest of your post, but in the video, each container held 4 missiles.
Oh, I didn't watch the video.
This just sounds like a garrysmod contraption...
Someone make this for garrysmod
Since I'm the resident Cruise missile expert. I can tell you why this is troubling, a variety of warheads can be put on a cruise missile. Anywhere from a small conventional warhead, to a bomb-let that can drop multiple cluster-bomb payloads at different targets, to a full nuclear warhead.
I didn't know that satellites were involved in cruise missile launches.
Yes, satellites are required for GPS targeting data as well as gigs and gigs of ultra hi-res maps cover thousands of square miles. Cruise missile launches normally take awhile because they're used offensively so uploading the missile data to the actually missile can take many days.
Using the same principle if they got hold of USS Iowa and were off the coast of Florida they could also too fuck shit up.
What? The USS Iowa is a rusting scrap heap of the coast of Suisun Bay in California, it doesn't even have any turrets, it's stripped bare. If the terrorists could get together the millions of dollars each day for daily operating costs and a new engine for it. Even enough crew to man it, they'd be doing a favor by getting it out to see because we'd sink the fucker with all hands on board the moment we finished laughing at them.
The Missouri and the New Jersey have had all their inner workings gutted and set up in Pearl Harbor and New Jersey as museum ships. The four BB, the Wisky (Wisconsin) is in a mothball fleet docked in Norfolk, also stripped but retains the ability to return to active service within a year's notice.
I'm sure our anti-missile defenses could defeat this easily.
More than likely yes, the issue with this is the ability to launch these things close to the mainland before a SM could launch to intercept.

If you want your guns that can only fire one bullet at a time, and inaccurate as hell, go live sometime before World War I, or the American Revolution, take your pick.

No I mean conventional warfare as in WWII where every single battle wasn't when soldier's were attacked by people disguised as civilians, IED's at every corner and all that shit. Settle it fair and square with normal armies, or at least semi fair.
