Well I guess that's the end for Durge and General Jedi Terminator
To be fair, the movies turned grievious from absolute badass to asthmatic old man.
Wait, all of it?
Doesn't the Star Wars EU consistently contradict itself as well as the films?

OP just made a wrong title. They'll cherry pick stuff from the EU when and if it suits them.
To be honest with you some expanded universe stuff is on par with movie/tv stuff if not better, of course this is coming from a star trek point of view, the Titan series and a lot of the work by Andrew Robinson was fantastic, I'm sure star wars is no different.

I think being a Star Trek fan is why this doesn't bother me, in Star Trek the only things Canon are TV Shows and Movies.
There are no 'levels' of Canon like Star Wars had, Star Trek EU was never canon in any way.
So if the Star Wars EU suddenly becomes Non-Canon, I'm fine.
Sources state that 107% of people in Chechnya have voted in favor of Star Wars Russia being canon before Star Wars EU.
Oh man, this could mean more Republic Commando stuff! I love Delta Squad!
Holiday special is the only valid canon as far as I'm concerned
X-wing series would be a nice film adaptation, at least the first 3 novels focusing on Rogue Squadron.
If it didn't happen in the 6 movies it never happened
sadly in the prequels a lot of really stupid shit was added so whats so bad about this?
I mean Jesus Christ

this is the stupidest fight scene ever and palpatine very specifically said in the originals he thinks "jedi weapons" (light sabers) are practically toys
KoTOR and Jedi Knight are gold though, if something like the prequels are canon, why can't those games be (and beyond)
I think being a Star Trek fan is why this doesn't bother me, in Star Trek the only things Canon are TV Shows and Movies.
The star trek movies are canon? Even the next-gen ones?
The star trek movies are canon? Even the next-gen ones?
Anything live action + hand full of stuff from the Animated series is canon.
The star trek movies are canon? Even the next-gen ones?
they're canon but in an alternate star trek universe.
The star trek movies are canon? Even the next-gen ones?
gene roddenberry said himself he'd like for someone to "Reinvent" Star Trek TOS so I imagine even JJ Abrams are canon
I imagine Gene would like JJ's movies.
they're canon but in an alternate star trek universe.
When he said next-gen I assumed he meant the TNG movies
The new books that are coming out however, will be equally canon with the movies

I don't get all the complaints about JJ's movies. They're not amazing or perfect but they're good.
It's not like old Star Trek didn't have it's fair bit of occasional suck.

Star Trek is amazing and TOS is legendary for its time but it still has a lot of "Wow am I really watching this crap" moments
So what about the Han Solo trilogy? Since it covers his entire life from childhood right up until A New Hope, that doesn't leave a lot of room for them to do much with the Han movie they're supposedly making.
I'm still in denial of when [sp]Chewbacca died[/sp] in the New Jedi Order series, and now it's canon?
I mean, the Yuuzhan Vong arc was cool and all, but honestly I felt like it didn't fit well in the "established canon" prior to the EU being announced as being canon.

I wasn't really interested in them to begin with, because I never been into TOS, but they just looked like generic Sci-Fi blockbusters to me.
Well here's hoping the films are about the Yuuzhan Vong.
Yuuzhan Vong is some half assed warhammer bullshit
Wait a fucking second. Star Tours, that old silly Disney ride, is canon now too?
The New Star Tours ride completely disregards the movie timelines too, and yet, it's still considered part of the Expanded Universe. Beautiful.
Personally I feel that everything is Canon. I don't dislike the prequels, but they could have been better. If it weren't for them, there wouldn't be the awesome clone wars (the war, not the shows).
Though both shows are great in my eyes. I never got why people dislike the cg one.
You know something's wrong when people would rather consider the Holiday Special canon than the prequel trilogy.
I prefer the prequels rather than the original trilogy, crucify me.
You know something's wrong when people would rather consider the Holiday Special canon than the prequel trilogy.
The Holiday Special is bad, but it introduced Boba Fett.
Besides, it didn't do really stupid shit to the canon like Midichlorians.
