I kind of doubt it. I mean if he made one, I'd watch it, but the dialogue in all the games he's made is hilariously stilted and the plots are chock-full of weird shit that makes no sense and are so incredibly convoluted that it's hard to follow. This works great in the Metal Gear Solid games but I can't see it working anywhere else. Can you imagine a spy movie where the main character is an anti-hero hell-bent on revenge that goes around saving puppies and training them to use knives, has an army comprised of sado-masochists with Stockholm Syndrome and his love interest is a sniper who has the inexplicable ability to make herself invisible when she's naked but she never actually is naked yet her clothes disappear anyway because I don't know? Actually I'd watch the shit out of that, but I just can't see Kojima's brand of story telling working as well anywhere outside of a video game. Video games are just as powerful at story telling and narrative as film is, if not more so in many cases (The Last of Us, Silent Hill 1-4), I'd prefer to see him stick to that medium.
Kojima's whole reason for putting silly stuff was because he knows making a game completely serious for hours and hours can make people feel drained. The funny stuff is just to keep everything fresh. If he made a movie I can see him keeping some laughs but it'd have to be more focused
Kojima is clearly a film fan and tbh I think he would probably do a good job with a film.
He's got self control issues when it comes to dialogue and exposition, which is a far larger problem in a 1h30m movie than a 12h game.
Although Western fans may mourn the loss, McCarthy doesn’t share their despondency. “Honestly, I am not so sure that any threat to yet another shouting, shooting game full of American grunts saving democracy from the wiles of dark-skinned terrorists is any great loss to the art,” he said.
Only thing even remotely close to THAT would be Snake's Revenge, which Kojima had nothing to do with. Guess they seriously ARE out of touch with what the hell they are doing.

He is a fantastic example of game development done very, very right, and game development done very, very wrong.
He has clearly never played a single MGS game. [editline]20th October 2015[/editline] ZoE spiritual successor maybe
zone of the enders was never really kojima's project though, that series was created, written and directed by other people. he was just a producer.

[editline]20th October 2015[/editline] According to Konami him and his team have started their long term vacation after development. http://www.tokyo-sports.co.jp/entame/anime/462286/
I thought Kojima is retired now?
It’s likely that, after Kojima’s non-compete clause expires, in December, he will find a new studio and continue making lavishly produced games. But these future projects will be anomalies in a mobile-dominated Japanese market. Although Western fans may mourn the loss, McCarthy doesn’t share their despondency. “Honestly, I am not so sure that any threat to yet another shouting, shooting game full of American grunts saving democracy from the wiles of dark-skinned terrorists is any great loss to the art,” he said.
david mccarthy is employed at cybird corporation, a company that makes dating sims for mobile phones. a real star in the industry, i'm sure people are really interested in his searing criticisms of metal gear.
Metal Gear got super fucking convoluted, but remember that he wanted to end the series after pretty much every major release. MGS2 or 3 were the logical endings of the series. If you want a better example of his story telling skills, check out Snatcher (which some reviewers of the time called "the greatest video game story ever").
I think 3 was a good place to end the story, adding more and more onto Big Boss' legacy muddied things up a bit, though I did enjoy Peace Walker and V a lot. You know everything you need to know about Big Boss when he[sp]refuses to shake the CIA Director's hand[/sp]at the end of 3.
He's only been fired/on vacation from Konami, he won't quit making games until he's dead.
Even then I think he has an AI pod set up to continue his work.
