Me neither. Thats why it "sounds" inaccurate
But then what can you expect from a book written by tens of different men about a man in the sky? :v:
One of the common misinterpretations of a God. The bible dictates that God is not a man in the sky, he is a spirit; a paranomal, supernatural, and divine being. Throughout the old testament, scripture speaks of man making covenants with God, growing closer to the natural desire of being beside Him. And then, in the New Testament, it speaks of God being literally hand-in-hand with man through Jesus of Nazareth. When it led to the crucifixion of Jesus, they had separated godliness from their lives all together. It then became, that "God completed the Trinity, creating a Holy Ghost to live within all" (I say holy ghost, as it was originally said that way, but likely changed to holy spirit after Scooby Doo became a major hit cartoon.). All in all, when you think "God", don't think "hairy man who lives in the clouds and throws lightning at people", think of "paranormal entity which inhabits the universe".
There's plenty of other religious stereotypes that are misinterpreted. When the Bible says that "God created man in his own image", this is likely not a material image, rather the ability to feel, think, dictate between right and wrong, etc.. And, you would be right in saying that the bible would be inaccurate, considering that it was hand-written by several different people (not only men).
the "a" in "atheist" is a denial.
"atheist" means "no god".
I thought you christians learned not to force their religions down other people's throats?
Some of us have funnily enough. I think he's just joking though.

Wow God needs to release new content instead of shitty minor bug fixes.
If the bible can change that much in 30 years, in a time where everything is recorded so well, imagine how much change it has gone through in the 1800 years before that?
Back then it not only suffered from edits, but also miscommunication and mistranslation.
How one can claim that this book is still the word of God, is beyond me, when none of the original words are even in there.
I see so many arguments for this and its really easily answered. Go look in a book called Christianity for Dummies, I read it out of curiosity last week and found the answer to that question. I have heard from many other sources the reason that miscommunication can't happen.
They had to write down everything by hand. Religious leaders maintained strict supervision over the copying and if there were too many mistakes, the whole thing would be thrown out and started over. The reasoning goes on and on. Go listen to some apologetics before saying anything that comes to your mind which you call "truth"
Also, this is a Catholic bible. It is in no way connected to the NKJV NIV ESV ect bible translations. This is one of the main reasons other Christians don't like how the Catholic church conducts this sort of business. Don't think the whole religion is completely corrupt because one denomination does something stupid.
I think when FPjte meant "atheist", he meant "a theist" :smug:
