Because Internet Shitexploder sucks at standards. You make a website, compliant to the web standards and then IE is like "GO REWRITE THE WEBSITE IN PASCAL YOU MOTHERFUCKER YEAH OR I WON'T READ IT".
plus like IE6 is like fucking 8 years old with web standards that's fucking ridonk even 2 year old safari doesn't display some web pages right
you think i haven't tried the tech guy told me that upgrading all of the computers would cost too much [editline]07:06PM[/editline] im not sure if the labor would cost too much or if he thinks it costs money though
You got yourself lazy tech/Stupid one.
damn! time for me to upgrade!
are there any techs that aren't both the people worth their salt in computing are programming/building them/not working with them, not running around a high school fixing 65 year old women's computers when the unplug the mouse
Hackers used a flaw in Microsoft's Internet Explorer (IE) browser to target the Gmail accounts of Chinese human rights activists.
:raise: That's weird. I thought hackers would want online freedom. Must be government sponsored hackers or something.
It is about time. This is the third or fourth time holes in IE6 have been used to open up access to people's computers. And yes Jund, these are government hackers. It's been known for the past few years now that China has one of the biggest cyber-attack divisions in the world.
I haven't used IE in a long time, but they would really be better if they forced people to update their browsers after a certain point. Especially if it gets to the point where people are still using an outdated version like IE6.
Microshit will go crazy fuck them FIrefox is better :) also i changed the default on my schools macs to FF :smug:
Thanks Google!
C'moon, IE6 is an classic. :v:
Now we just need IE9 to come out.
:byewhore:
also i changed the default on my schools macs to FF :smug:
thats a pretty dick thing to do
I wasn't aware that people even USED IE 6.
IE6 alone still has a 13% market share, larger than all other browsers except Firefox.
What are you guys talking about Internet Explorer works great!
haha, silly microsoft supporting ie6 till 2014, they forgot the world will end in 2012
My school still uses it.
Mine switched over Christmas break To IE8! What an improvement! I'm thinking of writing a letter for them to switch to Chrome or Firefox and not compromise school security.
google to Microsoft:
Building a website in a world with IE6 is hell. Me: "Hey, project manager! Check out my shizznit addition to big expensive website A" PJ: "Go and do some crossbrowser testing" FF: Sup Bro Chrome: Chill Page Bra IE8: Paaaaage IE7: paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaage IE6: SATAN SHIT IN YOUR EYES So many fucking work arounds just for one browser. You know it isn't just the fact that it's old. They released IE6 on prototype none finalised CSS standards. Half of the shit IE6 recognises/ doesn't recognise, it's done wrong from the beginning. And that's not only made developer's live harder, it's essentially stopped CSS development. CSS3 is fucking awesome, but no one uses it because the cycles of supporting CSS are completely fucked. All because of IE6 (And sort of IE7 too)
Opera.
I wasn't aware that people even USED IE 6.
Schools/government departments/computer illiterates can't be bothered to, are unable to, or just don't possess the resources needed to update all their systems. That said, even my crappy school updated to IE7 years ago, even though I'd much rather they use something like firefox, chrome, or opera.
Hey! Netscape 4 still works! And over 2400 baud dial-up too!
In germany Firefox is already leading the browser-statistic. :smug:
As it should be everywhere
Maybe now my school will FINALLY update.
I don't even know why MS bothers with IE, they don't make any money from it that I can think of. They're spending money to fuck up web standards.
IE sucks. It's a lame excuse for a web browser. Microsoft, just stop trying. It's clunky and slow. Let Firefox, Google Chrome or even OPERA take IE's place.
I dunno if it was just my computer but when I used to use IE6 gifs rendered at half speed. When I got Firefox I thought it was rendering gifs way too fast.
BBC News source Google's announcement in full Wow, I didn't know Firefox was so close to IE in Europe. Just 5% separates them now. Worldwide IE has a much larger lead.
:D I'm glad to see that Google will start phasing out this shit on my birthday.
Firefox already took over IE in quite a few countries. I wouldn't be surprised if firefox will be the worlds no1 browser eventually, especially seeing as IE can no longer be bundled with windows over here in the EU.

They weren't told they had to ship it without IE because it was thought that consumers would be confused if it came without IE and would have a hard time getting online. They shipped the same version of Win7 worldwide. The only other version is Windows 7 N, which is a European version that comes without Windows Media Player. It's what you get in Europe if you buy directly from Microsoft. European retailers still carry the full version with WMP.
