So yesterday's Republican Debate was Kind Of A Disaster

Wait, does anyone here seriously think that Jeb! stands a chance?
You're telling me republicans are immune to corruption, and the only corrupt politician running for president is Clinton?
He said "no where near as sleazy."
If you are going to argue, don't do it with absolutes that people aren't using.
Best case scenario, Kasich gets the nomination. He's the least crazy person still running.
Because Clinton is a vote buying, dishonest as fuck, empty-stare fake bitch, that's why. I would put my trust in Trump more than I would ever put my trust in Clinton. It isn't about their policies for me when it comes to these two. Clinton would get nothing done, Trump knows how to make deals happen, which is all government is now, because he's been doing it his whole life and has built an empire on being good at it. Trump has been fairly honest, and I like how he just says it like it is, or blurts out how he feels about something, not catering to the largest common denominator, and Clinton has been the opposite. Avoiding questions she doesn't like with a little fake giggle before talking about something else. Every time. EVERY time.
You want the person who's going to do the best job. If you can't have them, then you want the person who's least likely to fuck everything up
Trump is a demagogue, he doesn't say what he's thinking, he's just saying outrageous shit that he knows will get attention and get people interested in him, and millions, including you, have bought it hook, line, and sinker.
"Clinton would get nothing done" What makes you say this? What reason do you have to think she'll somehow cause the government to grind to a total halt? If so, it'll be because of an obstinate Republican party.
i wouldn't vote for hillary because she's shady as fuck but i'd rather have her and 4 more years of the same shit than to lose 30 years of social progress or have an actual infant running this country "for teh lulz"
No, he's a wild card. I have absolutely no confidence in Hillary to do it though.
he's as much a wild card as a fucking wild gorilla would be a good firefighter, as opposed to someone who's simply obese

"he can make business deals" doesn't make him qualified to be the goddamn president of the united states
he's not a politician. he's not a diplomat. "he always speaks his mind" is great if he runs a fucking blog, not the most influential country in the world. pretty much everyone outside of the US thinks he's a joke
people who say stuff like "i'm just telling the truth" are always the ones constantly saying really stupid, offensive, and bigoted shit all the time and everyone else gets annoyed by it like wow congrats you're genuinely an asshole and a gigantic piece of shit, but you speak your mind so lemme suck your dick and also give you the keys to the white house

Given how hard Trump is winning, I don't think you can fairly dismiss him as being incompetent or as not being a politician. I'm 100% a Bernie supporter, but I'd go for Trump over Hillary. Hillary wouldn't get anything progressive done, but there are no party lines when it comes to fucking the American people.
Yeah, to win the Republican Primaries, Trump has to behave the way he does. What'll be really interesting is to see how far he pivots left for the general.

I really don't get it. What is Trump going to get done? Building the wall? Banning Muslims? Killing the relatives of terrorist?
How do you know these positions and still justify a vote for him? I blows my mind you can support Sanders and then go a support Trump be cause "he speaks his mind".

As I said before I don't think a lot of you guys are serious about Supporting Sanders. I think you guys have hoped on the "Feel the Bern" train because its the politically savy thing to do. Your supporting the farthest left candidate, but when that doesn't work out, your going to the farthest right. It makes no sense.

They're basically political nihilists.

As Tudd said, I said "no where near as sleazy" except Trump, but at least Trump airs it, explaining that he makes deals to get shit done. No, all Repubs are not immune to corruption, but honestly, this election cycle, Hillary is the worst when it comes to corruption, then Trump.
I think I can attempt to explain this:
They hate the current political system. They hate everything about it, especially the fact that they are forced to throw support behind big business hand puppets groomed by their masters if only to stop the other one. The choice for election for many is not which candidate is better, but which pre-approved candidate disgusts them the least.
There are currently two candidates who hate that system just as badly, and the system hates them right back. One on each "side" as a matter of fact. Sanders is... well, Sanders, and even though Trump is a businessman himself most of his kin would like to strangle him with his own toupee. The both of them are not in this race because of the usual aids, but in spite of them.
If both manage to give their party the bird and reach the actual election then good, the actual better candidate can be chosen then. But if only one makes it... well, it's an even bigger statement to show that you would rather flip the table than take another bite of the shit you've been forced to eat up until this point.
For a lot of these people, it isn't right vs left. It's them versus what American politics have become. And Trump may very well be the Samson Option.
Trump is definitely not the "furthest right." If anything, he's probably the least far right of them all.
Trump is definitely not the "furthest right." If anything, he's probably the least far right of them all.
He is. Let me give an order, from literally, left to right.
<---Left---Trump----Bush/Kasich----Rubio----Carson----Cruz---Right--->

Trump is far and away the farthest left of the current field of Republicans.
I agree with the rest though. Have no idea how people who call themselves Sanders supporters would turn around and vote for someone who agrees with basically none of Sanders choices over someone who agrees with atleast some.
yes lets elect an egomaniac billionaire with no diplomatic ability and no political experience to the highest seat of power of arguably the most powerful country on earth
what could possibly go wrong

We've already had two bushes in there, we know exactly what will happen.
"Thousand points of light... for rich white people"
and
"Ladies and gentlemans, tacos rule"
i see your cunning tricks you tricksy berners you, you say that you'll vote trump if bernie loses so that more people support bernie over the fear of trump winning if he loses
