If dadrock specifically means bands like dire straits (so essentially you're insulting people for listening to music that has survived multiple generations, gj) its a really dumb insult and I suspect its propagated by the kind of nerds who whine incessantly about how their peers just don't ~understand~ death metal the way they do.
