But even though the Russians are currently in the world's semi-periphery, they still have the Spetsnaz. And the Spetsnaz laugh at pretty much everyone.
Indeed.
This is bad why?
Americans would have to actually make their own products.

Silly USSR.
Everyone knows Americans are too fat to move. How on Earth would they stand up to make products?

Thats the problem.
[editline]22nd January 2011[/editline]
They would all die off.
[editline]22nd January 2011[/editline]
Then the crack pot countries would go to war.
[editline]22nd January 2011[/editline]
And glorious mother Russia would reign.
At least if something happens, we can look back and see if Homefront is accurate.
we're fucked
And then no wars happened.
China could easily decimate the USA with their superior technology and troops though
Not sure if serious.
[editline]21st January 2011[/editline]
We should just liberate North Korea and make it a US territory already. Then eventually make the territory an official US state.

You know what I like to do to make myself sound credible and taken seriously in an argument? Use insults on the country at hand and make myself already known to be the one that will always try and make the US look like the worst country in the world.
I wonder if the US would have any second thoughts about using nukes if they got in a war with china and china tried to land on US soil.
I'm not talking versus cities, merely thinking, how are you going to get dozens of millions of troops here? Flying them all would be too expensive, they'd take boats. And I doubt the US would really hold back on dropping a nuke in the middle of the ocean to wipe out a good sized chunk of troops. Virtually no environmental or civilian collateral damage.
To all you people saying "If America goes to war with China we loses monies and peeps have to buy from western companys! so we lose monies!" Think of how China got so much damn money in the first place. Selling to western nations/companies, so if China and the U.S. went to war China would take a HUGE FUCKING DIP in profit from exports/imports.
So no worries, we have... economic immunity?
2. The US wouldn't dare go to war with China, since the US economy almost entirely depends on China for imports and greatly on exports.
Think you got that reversed their pal. China depends on us for their economy. If it wasn't for the United States, the economy of China would not stand where it is today. Yes, we vastly receive imports from them, and do not export as much as we should, however that's needless to say if we were to cut economical and trading ties with China, the U.S. economy would be fine considering before China we were dependent on ourselves and Europe. Don't be so naive.
China could easily decimate the USA with their superior technology and troops though
Not really. Consider the fact it's taken them almost 50-100 years to catch up to our technology and place in the world where we stood in the 1940's. It's 2011, I'm pretty sure there's stuff we don't know about that the U.S. Military has, and along with that I'm pretty sure our technology is vastly superior to the worlds still. We have the 2nd most nuclear weapons in the world, right next to Russia. China has around 200 something.
All other countries are inferior to the US.
And they should keep it that way by starting as many wars as possible.
With China's cheap imports stopped, every dollar store, walmart style cheap quantity>quality store would be forced to buy from western countries or African countries that produce the same product for much higher prices, and the current high standard of living Americans enjoy would be significantly reduced.
Africa's and India are both not developed enough to provide goods as cheap as China, and who knows what the middle-east/Pakistan/Iran/India might do with the USA and China at war.
Actually China no longer importing goods would be great (after a few years). We would end up having to create certain products ourselves therefor increasing the number of jobs and therefor helping the economy.
Deployment =/= war.
And this is just so NK doesn't run to China for support if it ever needs it, the US is simply reminding China where to set its priorities.

True, but just because China doesn't have the BEST technology in the world doesn't mean their army is composed 100% of masses of farmers armed with rocks and clubs, like Lunchbox suggested.
north korea is far from being militarily advanced
china isnt going to do anything, because theyre too busy shooting college students for googling democracy

Reminding? For one thing, China's one of the world's most powerful nation. The US isn't their nanny, they can't tell them 'don't help these guys, cause we said so.'
However, it isn't much of a problem anyway. NK's nothing but an annoyance to China. All NK does is send deportees to China, only to have them sent back. China wouldn't care if NK was destroyed or not.

Oh no not at all. Needless to say, we shouldn't fear the Chinese army although. I don't see them as foreign enemies, I for one, welcome China into the World Power Stage. People won't be able to blame as much shit on the U.S. now that we have 2 World Powers, and I think it'll help the Chinese turn more democratic to be honest. But yeah, it will be very interesting.
Not likely. Their strength is in numbers, not technological prowess nor tactics. The Russians look at the Chinese and even they say "LOL" at their military.
But war with China will never come. Because China is the United States' biggest supplier of... well, everything and the United States is China's biggest buyer of, frankly, everything. It's an economic peace agreement that ensures war will never happen.
Now are there people interested in starting war between the two? Absolutely. Nobody outside of Washington and Beijing, however, is interested in any kind of conflict, though, and that's also what matters immensely in ensuring peace.
Canada and U.S.A are the largest traders, not China and U.S.A
I can't wait for homefront to come out.
