This man must be a doctor according to the article
It's pretty bullshit to not hire someone for being overweight, unless physical fitness is an obvious requirement for the job.
However, there is no "stigma". Obesity is bad for you and no sane person can state otherwise. Surely the metabolism works slightly differently between individuals, but there is no such thing as being "born fat". If you are obese you eat too much and/or don't exercise enough, it's as simple as that.
Note that even if you eat pretty healthy food, the quantity is always important. Hunger feeling is not a good way to measure how much you need to eat. Typical overweight people eat the same food as everyone else, just slightly more. It's easy to change; Just eat normal-sized portions.
Drink weight gainer.
That's just cheating.
Mid thirties... That's when it all starts to happen... for most people... (getting fat for no reason that is)
Make outside more fun.
Lazy attitudes like that are why you're fat.
I have a 16.3 BMI, which is weird because my legs contain a ton of muscle from Cross Country. I guess I just have a runners body.
Make outside more fun.
Get some everyday exercise. Do you own a bicycle? I have a ~40 minute bike ride to school single-way, I just do that every day instead of bus/car (takes about as long time honestly) and I can stuff my face all weekends. I even have three spoonfuls of sugar in this tea I'm drinking right now.
Three spoonfuls. How about that?
If being overweight carries a higher chance for medical issues then why would employers not want to hire fitter employees?
Cool. I found jogging seems to help me gain weight. But protein shakes? =/ hmm
Yeah they're quite expensive sadly. But running won't work for me, I'll just burn the calories I gained. I don't eat much in general either, I don't like food.

X-C, hell yeah.

You're not a doctor or a dietitian.
God I HATE fat people. They symbolize everything that is wrong with western culture.
My uncle weights 300ish pounds. And it's disgusting.
How do they? Being fat is not always representative of a person's lifestyle or even physical fitness. An overweight person who does some exercise is less likely to die than a thin person who doesn't.
So apparently, I'm average, leaning very close towards underweight. (5.3 ft tall and 111 pounds).

While fat people may be a symbol of what's wrong with western culture, self-righteousness is what's actually wrong with it.

Depends on your age. If you're 13 or something you're fine.
How do they? Being fat is not always representative of a person's lifestyle or even physical fitness. An overweight person who does some exercise is less likely to die than a thin person who doesn't.
That's because the fat person will become less fat and the skinny person will become fat after their metabolism dies.

No but, I have a pair of eyes. The overweight people (ranging from slightly large to obese) I see around are those who do any or all of the following:

Eat three or more large sandwiches with cheese for breakfast

Has very irregular eating schedules, sometimes skips breakfast resulting in them eating more later

Haves about 1.7 times as much food as everyone else on their plates for lunch

Grabs a candybar in breaks every or every other day

Finds excuses for eating fast foods several times a week

Always takes the elevator instead of stairs

Don't exercise regularly, finds excuses not to ("No time").
The list goes on. The little things count. The common denominator among virtually all overweight people is that they deny their problem. "It's genetic" is the by far most common way of implying that you have no responsibility for your body, which is wrong. If you can convince yourself that you don't have control over it, you don't have to worry right?
I don't like food.
I know what you mean, but now i'm getting older i'm starting to think 'hmm i think i will try that'.
try it and think... uhh... nah... But getting there :keke: Give it a few years and you might start doing that too.

It's not that I don't like new things, I just don't crave food. The only food to me that is ever really mouth-wateringly orgasmic is pizza.
Doctors discriminate against poor health. Being fat is being unhealthy
Dr. Bacon, nutritionist.
/facepalm
im surprised zeke19 hasnt posted yet
but yeah, why the fuck not? You're one of the reason why USA is ridiculed, of course a man whose supposed to represent the symbolism of health is going to discriminate you.
People you do realize you don't "gain" or "lose" fat cells or muscle cells....
People you do realize you don't "gain" or "lose" fat cells or muscle cells....
That doesn't matter.
It's not like the fat people this article is talking about are just a few points over normal BMI range, they're probably terribly obese and that would get in the way of almost any normal job so what's the problem?
It's not like the fat people this article is talking about are just a few points over normal BMI range, they're probably terribly obese and that would get in the way of almost any normal job so what's the problem?
There is no problem if someone is actually that fucking fat. When you obviously look like 300 lbs of fat, then that's the problem.
Anyone for whom their weight is not due to a disability should be considered to have entered that state of physicality of their own intent. Similar to how if you don't study you don't get undumberated
In order to get welfare for being too fat to work I suggest instead of getting a handicapped parking pass, you get a special one that requires you to park at the BACK of the lot.
Fat people shouldn't get scooters I think, it encourages them to be fat.

Well my eyes show me that all fat people go to the gym every day and eat lots of salads. Prove I'm wrong.

No, the common denominator is that most fat people don't give a shit. If they can live their life as well as they want to they want to, then everything is absolutely fine. You're a self-righteous asshole, and many people would consider that to also be a negative quality, but you don't change because you don't give a shit. See the parallels?
It's nobody's business but your own what you do with your body (or what kind of personality you have) as long as you're not hurting other people.

If someone loses their legs in an industrial accident, could that be considered "entering a state of physicality of their own accord"? They could have been more careful, after all.
hahahahaha

No. Fat people can be healthy if they work at it. That man isn't gonna grow his legs back no matter how hard he tries.
