Uh, except only one of those is a contest?
You don't know how cutthroat that industry is. Auditions for hundreds of thousands of dollars occur constantly, and you only get a few chances to make it big. It's just as big of a contest as anything else.

Musicians are(should) be liked for their music. Athletes on the other hand are all about body. They're very different. Plus auditions are not contests in the same sense sports competitions are.
Something else to consider on top of this; Taking performance enhancing compounds outside of "sports". Most high level musicians are on shit like beta blockers constantly. Yet almost nobody seems to give a single solitary fuck about it.
I can understand disliking performance enhancing drugs, but in my eyes it's mostly an all or nothing deal. You can't criticize cycling, while being perfectly OK with people in an orchestra doing something very similar to enhance their performance.
While you're at it, don't forget to suggest coffee should be banned from workfloor offices, because it allows people who drink it to be more productive during the morning than those who don't.
Moron.
Lance was a doper, but then again doping has been a problem since the inception of the sport over 120 years ago. That does not excuse him from the fact that he lied, cheated, and stole to get his way to the top, and routinely stepped on the heads of many a teammate. I don't care what kind of philanthropy he did, the fact of the matter is that he is a mean-spirited guy and anyone that knows him personally will attest to that. He let his ego get in the way, and for that he paid the price.
wow so people getting the shit kicked out of them by a guy are willing to say he's a bad person, who would have thought
So the man raises millions for cancer research while having cancer and is called a piece of shit several times over for lying about a fucking sport???
Wow.
sports lmao
or rather, how seriously people take them
He should be forgotten, not praised.
Yeah okay, let's forget all the boatloads of money he helped raise for cancer research.

Lmao yes they are. In fact thats probably the only sensible comparison made in this entire thread.
Both are performances. Both are cutthroat competition. An audition is not a contest? How do you figure, you can be damn sure that musician is hoping the others fucking fail because if they dont it means he doesnt get jack shit.
