I doubt there will be another hung parliament next time anyway. The only reason there was one this time was because of the Lib Dems surge in popularity meaning that the votes pretty much went three ways. However now that they are seen as the enemy it'll just go back to Labour vs Conservatives, I hope at least, fuck this coalition bullshit.
Not really, a hung parliament was already projected before Cleggmania
AV is retarded. If you are doing electoral reform, do it full hog with PR instead of this half-arsed compromise that nobody wants.
Still thousand times better than FPTP, and certainly worth implementing. If there was a choice between AV and PR, sure, but opposing it for being an upgrade instead of the best replacement is retarded.
now the issue is now nicely swept under the rug
Not as much as if the referendum had succeeded, which is good.
OP is brilliantly stupid. If I could vote it would've been no
FPTP is a terrible system. anything is better than FPTP
this is factually incorrect.
Of course it's not, and people would be encouraged to vote for a party they actually like as a first preference. Until one party gets over 50% they win and the likelihood of two parties getting both 50% is absurd at least in the long run.
OP is brilliantly stupid. If I could vote it would've been no
So far everyone who's supporting the no side in here either just regurgitates what their leaflet said, or calls everyone on the yes side an idiot without actually saying what was wrong with AV.
ITT: People who haven't really read into AV complaining about it.
What the fuck? Forget the UK, why is Facepunch opposed to AV? :psyduck: It has it's problems, but anything is better than FPTP.
What the fuck? Forget the UK, why is Facepunch opposed to AV? :psyduck: It has it's problems, but anything is better than FPTP.
True. After this, electoral reform won't be taken seriously for a long time.
I think I speak for everyone when I say, I just don't give a fuck :wooper:All I need to know is that all politicians are pathological liars who need to be skinned alive
All I need to know is that all politicians are pathological liars who need to be skinned alive
:colbert:
:colbert:
Prove me wrong. They either lie through their teeth or bitch and whine about each other until they look good, I fucking hate them, every last one of them that I've had the misfortune to see in the street, campaining or on tv in a debate.
The first page of this thread fills me with great anger.
Prove me wrong.
Because they aren't? I don't know what you're expecting.
Because they aren't? I don't know what you're expecting.
How the fuck are they not? Every single politician bullshits their way through the elections and then bullshits some more in office, rarely if ever actually fucking delivering what the people of the country need, they're fucking liars and I wouldn't shed a tear if they were shot.
Every single politician bullshits their way through the elections and then bullshits some more in office, rarely if ever actually fucking delivering what the people of the country need, they're fucking liars and I wouldn't shed a tear if they were shot.
Source?
SO there's this old couple next door to me i heard them on the garden "all these new bloody systems, i've got my pension i don't give a crap about what happens anyway, but i like my good old stuff so im voting no" I could have ran round and gouged his fucking eyes out.
Source?
AHAH Just about every politician ever, and if you trust politicians then I feel bad for you, plus it let's them become complacent if everyone just accepts and trusts them, they have the power to alter our lives, they should constantly be checked, rechecked and challenged at every single possible point, to force them to do the right thing. You should judge them based on their own individual merit and character, and not judge politicians as one large group. The video I linked is of Anthony Wiener.
Well so far what I've seen is politicians lying for their own gain, the only cool one I've ever saw was Boris Johnson for the simple reason he interupted a mugging and chased the bastards on a bike with a crow bar.
Well so far what I've seen is politicians lying for their own gain
What you've seen so far =/= All in existence/all in your country.
Entirely true, I still don't trust them, by the nature of their work you shouldn't trust them.
Entirely true, I still don't trust them, by the nature of their work you shouldn't trust them.
If they've proven to have integrity, it's fine to trust them.
So far everyone who's supporting the no side in here either just regurgitates what their leaflet said, or calls everyone on the yes side an idiot without actually saying what was wrong with AV.
Because i'm a supporter of a couple of the little parties. AV means those little parties will NEVER get a seat despite it being ~fairer~. I really don't see how people can be saying that AV is fairer in anyway.

Smaller parties will get a higher vote because people will get more confident to vote for them because they know that if their most preferred candidate does not get in it will just go off the next person they want in. It does not mean that radical parties would get in it just means that the more popular 3 smaller parties will get more off a say in parliament and if their argument is sound and better than the typical 2 i.e Labour and conservative. Then hopefully more people will vote for them.
OP is an idiot.
OP is an idiot.
Shit gimmick acount is shit.
