I'd love to visit Xinjiang one day, especially the far north-west where it borders Russia and Kazakhstan, but not while these horrible incidents still happen. Hopefully justice is delivered for the families of those murdered.
Any particular reason? I've never heard of anything particularly interesting as a tourist spot in that region, let alone that country.
not really comparable since this is literally a terrorist/separatist organization perpetrating the attack, first world states worrying about gun control rarely have active military groups trying to procure territory and murder as many people as possible [editline]11th October 2015[/editline] the article states multiple times that it was a group of people
It's entirely comparable because they used what was available to them to perpetrate incited violence, secondly you being the guy who somehow tried to compare eastern european violence against women into modern western video game hiring practices as directly related processes probably shouldn't be posting this kind of corollary to begin with, pot+kettle, etc.
this wouldn't have happened if the victims had knives (yes it would have, police with guns arrived on the scene and this organized group still managed to run them off and kill some, stealing their weapons) this isn't some lone wolf or some idiots in a parking lot letting a fight get out of hand, it was an organized militarized group aimed at subverting the state
Saying it's not comparable doesn't make it not comparable just because you say it

Also because I'm hipster and it's not a cool place to go yet (everyone around here wants to go to fucking Bali). Inland China and central Eurasia in general is a beautiful place.
