Yeah how dare they make capable OS's which don't need to be rebought whenever a part stops working, its a total scandal.
Huh? Do you even know what you're talking about?
Bill Gates is probably laughing right now. "No-One can defeat microsoft!"
Ok someone make a thread where we theorycraft what would be next big hit and then patent it in every country. Like the guy who trolled MMO makers.
I've said it a thousand times, you should not be able to patent ideas like 'an electronic device that plays music' or something. It's just really, really, stupid. You should be able to patent the technology used in such a device, such as the architecture of a microprocessor, or a clever method of making earphones or something, but not an idea ANYONE could come up with in five minutes. Invention and engineering is 0.1% initial idea and 99.9% hard work to actually invent that idea. Stupid patents like this completely destroy what tiny chances small companies have of getting in the global marketplace because big corps can afford to sue the ass off anyone who tries to compete with their library of fifteen million pathetic but perfectly legal patents. They also stop people bothering to do the hard work to actually make an idea a reality, because why bother when some company is just going to swoop in with three hundred generic patents about whatever you're making and shut you down. Kick them while everyone else is kicking them.
Microsoft sued for making software that can browse the internet. Microsoft sued for making a program that can calculate math problems.
