Thumbs up to the man who went to God first, and for all of you people who know NOTHING about Christianity, you always put God before anything.
So if I killed you, would that just make it God's will?
I wonder if he can get some 'Faith Bail'.

He'll just pray to god instead of going to court
This isn't proof religion is wrong, it's proof he was a dumbass. He should of done both.
This guy needs to rot, but will probably get off scot-free because of the ubiquitous nature of religious nuts like him.
He has already been convicted, he just needs to be sentenced.
I'm a Christian, but I think this guy is nuts not to have taken her to a doctor. Seriously now.
That guy should be put down.
This is what scares me about humanity. I bet if he was the sick one he would have gone to a doctor instead of praying. :Dawkins102:

Proof on what?
That you havn't even bothered to look into what God wants us to do and dont go to him for our problems?

How do you look into that which does not exist?
I'm totally stoned but here goes:
If God created everything, then surely it would be smarter than instead of praying to God to heal her with magic rays, using what God created which is modern fucking medicine.

Figures.
There are Jesus freaks and there are christians, that is a jesus freak.
even though I am :catholic: I'm not an absolute devotee.
Wasn't there some other case of this happening with a 13 year old where the parents prayed instead of doing... something that works.

Stupidity is relative. Both are stupid, one is stupider.

Extremely treatable cancer, parents prayed instead of treating it.
Not sure how it turned out, but my oncologist dad was fucking raging.
You all call them morons, but you're not any better. You're all fucking bigots. To most of us including myself, God curing a young girl because people are praying around her is ridiculous. He can be a moron all he wants, if the court could prove beyond doubt that he didn't honestly and truly believe that praying would save his daughter, than he should be locked away. Misinformation is not a crime. That man was raised like that, he didn't wake up in the fucking morning and decide to let his daughter die.

Manslaughter is a crime.
Besides, we might be bigots, but at least we have LOGIC, REASONING, COMMON SENSE, and EMPIRICAL EVIDENCE on our side. You have scripture that conflicts with other scripture and often within it self, preaching morals of the old days that people selectively choose to follow for no reason what so ever.
Manslaughter is a crime.
Manslaughter is carelessly killing a man. It's not manslaughter when a doctor prescribes a drug that may cure the patient but it doesn't is it? Prayer was the prescription, and it didn't do the job. And he honestly and truly believed it would.
It was God's plan.

Was this man a doctor? No. Do drugs have empirical evidence of them improving survival rates? Yes. Does prayer? No.

You do know Christians are the ones that made the Rules of killing others, stealing and so on right?

No fucking doctor would prescribe prayer.
Ever hear of negligent homocide/manslaughter?
These parents were negligent because they didn't give their daughter proper medical care.

No, it's fucking survival instinct.
If I was an asshole to all the other members of my hunting party, they'd kick me out/leave me.

Why do other social animals in nature (gorillas, various other apes/monkeys) not kill each other or steal each other's bananas?
Also, killing others, stealing are both detrimental to society. I think we could have figured out killing/stealing is bad on the principle that you don't want to be killed or stolen from.
Was this man a doctor? No. Do drugs have empirical evidence of them improving survival rates? Yes. Does prayer? No.
Can you beyond a doubt prove that in all cases prayer does not help? No. So the evidence that prayer may improve survival rates is that it can't be proved not to help. This man was a man of religion, and I assume his daughter was as well. You don't fuck with people's beliefs. He didn't cause any harm, he unknowingly let it happen.

Yes. There is no evidence of it working. You logically do not work to disprove a treatment, you work to prove it.
Tell that to his daughter.

HE DID CAUSE HARM BY NEGLECTING HER
HE DELIBERATELY IGNORED MEDICAL HELP AND THE ADVICE OF DOCTORS

Oh, but they do. They exploit others with food, they kill and injure others etc. Often male monkeys force women to do the nasty with them before receiving a share of food. They're in the same boat as us.

No advice was offered by doctors, she never saw one. He didn't deliberately ignore medical help, he just didn't call upon it because he believed God could provide more help than any doctor could.

Yeah, there might be a few bad apple monkeys, but for the fuck it. You're incorrigible.
