wait what fuck DNS-ok.us isn't working for me oh I'm on the green I guess
Not working here as well. This one (http://www.siteadvisor.com/dns_checker.html?cid=109273) is working though.
I was playing APB with a friend and his net shut off around the 12:01 AM mark. We thought nothing of it then I remembered posting this.
Give him some of your ice cream and pussy for condolences.

My computer in the hallway sometimes gives me an error that says "Google Chrome cannot access the website because the DNS server lookup failed" sometimes, but plugging in the USB internet card fixes it when it does happen. Is this a sign that I have it or is it something else?
Nothing happened here.
I take that back, my internet just started going down non-stop 3 minutes ago.

Mine cut off at like 12:30... Didn't think anything of it cause it always does that. I remember this being posted a long time ago.
hey it's monday oh guess what fucking nothing happened cause I'm running ubuntu, nerds
i survived y2k12!!!!!!
No DNS server =/= internet is shut off. If you knew the IP addresses of the sites, you could still access them.
effectively it is. most websites use absolute links so you'd have to retype the URL for every page you click on
I'm curious how this virus actually works. Does it change the hosts file or does it change the DNS settings of the Internet connection settings under the TCP/IPv4 properties, or something entirely different? Either way could work really and are both extremely fixable, unless it uses some weird method I can't think of.
What point do they cut the internet off at? If a single machine on my router is infected, will it cut off 'net for everyone connected to the router?
No matter what whenever I read something like this I always do a full system scan. Even when I know I don't have the virus/malware.
hey it's monday oh guess what fucking nothing happened cause I'm running ubuntu, nerds
Because being called a nerd is an insult these days? Furthermore you're silly to think you are immune on Linux, what this "hack" does is change your router's DNS settings.
hey it's monday oh guess what fucking nothing happened cause I'm running ubuntu, nerds
Someone who's using Linux calling everyone on a video game forum "nerd". Projecting much? [editline]9th July 2012[/editline] Or are you that insecure that you constantly have to prove that others are worse than you?
Hopefully we will be shitpost free for today.
Hah im still here
m2
Welp, I'm still here...
I take that back, my internet just started going down non-stop 3 minutes ago.
is it too late to give this virus to my girlfriend so she'll go down on me :downs:
I'm still alive yay.

It's much easier to make something that tells the computer to set the DNS server to a rogue IP rather than making something to mess around with the hosts file.
