Or you know, technology could have improved in the 40,000+ years and bolt rounds are more effective than gyrojet rounds. Since they pretty much accelerate up to full speed nearly instantly Also, bolt rounds fucking explode, unlike traditional bullets, so even at low speeds in close quarters they're gonna fuck you up. Infact with bolt rounds in close quarters the major problem with them is going straight through their target and not exploding (as the inner fuse hasn't had a chance to set at close range)
