Didn't he batter some asian children I don't think he should be doing this job
I have to give the UK credit, most country's wouldn't have destroyed there national reputation for a shitty joke but by George there doing a good job of it.
Depends on how your bias allows you to choose what to believe? or
There's no reason to believe the Obama administration would have warm feelings towards Boris after his self-serving Brexit antics. He spit in the face of the special relationship and personally insulted the president.
You honestly believe that May would appoint someone as foreign secretary to fail at this crucial time to end his career, when he wouldn't of had much of a career without being appointed? You are delusional.
Who knows what her motives are? If I were to guess, she doesn't expect upcoming talks with the US or Europe to be overly rosy. It would be easy to blame Boris for being Boris, leaving herself and the Tories relatively unscathed.
So... one of the most important positions in securing Britain a place on the world stage as the UK leaves the EU, and we've given it to a monkey in a wig. xD
Honestly surprised Osborne didn't get Foreign Secretary. Boris suffered a pretty major setback after Gove stabbed him in the back - maybe May's hoping on buying the loyalty of Bojo and his cabal by giving them a second chance?
Maybe the game plan is to destroy this country and its reputation so hard by 2017 that the people will be begging for the government to end this unending farcical circus of stupidity and pretend the referendum never happened

is anyone in this thread actually surprised that karlosfandango is defending the appointment of a man whose past actions put him on the same political level as a circus clown, to a position of international importance

Like he watches the first couple of posts to sample what people generally think about the piece of news then adopts the polar opposite view. Boris "Hillary Clinton is a sadistic nurse" Johnson as foreign secretary. Is there any important figure in American politics - arguably our closest ally - who he hasn't insulted in some way? He's a farce. He'd be more at home on "I'm a celebrity get me out of here" than at the grown up table. IMO he's only there to keep the tory party holding together and potentially as a scapegoat for if shit goes down sometime soon.
Of course I should listen to the opinions of butt mad remainers before the opinion of our Prime Minister, my bad.
I don't think you understand, but all political statements have their own biases and can be objectively false as well as true. Your obligation as a citizen in a democracy is to form your own conclusions with the available facts (and no, this doesn't mean falling for propaganda or clickbait) instead of blindly accepting what all persons in a position of authority say.
With BoJo as foreign sec and Jeremy Hunt remaining as health sec at least we know for sure now that this is just a mad fever dream we're about to wake up from any minute, right?
Of course I should listen to the opinions of butt mad remainers before the opinion of our Prime Minister, my bad.
The opinion of our previous PM was to remain.. why did you decide to follow the opinions of morons and egoistic twats before the opinion of our Prime Minister? Also May also backed remain, so there's that..

My opinion now, as always is that Eton and Oxford educated Boris is more than capable and not the buffoon that the media try to make him out to be. Having said that I would rather form an opinion based on a decision made by a leading politician than form an opinion as most here have based on the opinion of the British media. This is no environment where people become leaders on their merits, but by how many palms they grease and favors they give out. He was also sacked for making up shit by the Times when he was working as a columnist there, and at parliament he had no cause to champion except his own. He never had any real support for any of the causes he espoused, such as Brexit, so it makes him twice over a hypocrite. He has already gone on record with his voluble support of Remain and acknowledged that there would be serious problems for trade and immigration if Brexit happened. http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/mar/23/eu-debate-boris-johnson-adopting-a-busking-and-humoresque-approach and what about this stunt during the EU debate? He's such a bad liar he couldn't even defend himself or his positions, nor could he remember which lies he used. Liars like him are successful because by the time people unpick his lies, anybody else who supports him or doesn't care have moved on to other things.
Theresa May made Boris Johnson responsible for the brexit mess haha oh wow this is amazing.
So are the Contservatives setting themselves up for a defeat in the next election with this grab-bag of nutjobs and incompetents, or are the British electorate so bereft of an alternative that they'll likely win another mandate?
So that's it then, he has all the credentials required to make a good Foreign Secretary.
He just listed a series of terrible attributes and your response is "perfect". I don't know what to say :speechless:
He just listed a series of terrible attributes and your response is "perfect". I don't know what to say :speechless:
If you think honesty is an attribute considered worthy for politics then it is I who is :speechless:
Boris Johnson booed at french embassy http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/video_and_audio/headlines/36798992
If you think honesty is an attribute considered worthy for politics then it is I who is :speechless:
So your ideal pm is a manipulative, self interested liar?
Boris Johnson booed at french embassy http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/video_and_audio/headlines/36798992
God that is just soul crushingly Cringy.
So your ideal pm is a manipulative, self interested liar?
The previous 2 were. Do you think she will be any different? I wasn't condoning dishonesty within politics merely pointing out it largely exists but you can carry on believing differently if you wish.
God that is just soul crushingly Cringy.
literally called for an economic union at least he seemed to see the irony dripping off that statement
literally called for an economic union at least he seemed to see the irony dripping off that statement
It's like he's trying desperately to find some way to backpedal. Why do you like Boris? What are his qualities beyond "celebrity"?

It's moments like this which I miss Cameron.
