Are you sure? I can search using the location bar just fine with no addons. [editline]29th April 2014[/editline] Yeah just noticed that too, if you had them before they stay after the update and you can move them around, but if you remove them after the update they're gone.
The bad thing about searching on the loc. bar is that it uses the search engine marked on the other bar, which is pretty annoying when you're used to it being automatically searched on Google and you change it for anything else (like YouTube).

If I'm using my ISP's and I try a search, I get a page not found thing from my ISP. If I use Google's DNS, then I get search results like normal.
hey thats a really nice chrome theme where can I ge- awww shit
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/ is this going to be windows 8 all over again, where all the changes (that aren't actually that bad) can easily be reversed with one download?
I underestimated this addon, it's actually very good. Thanks for showing me this.
I like to have my address bar above my tabs and bookmarks, how do I get it back? :/
I don't get it, why would you want them to purposely do something that doesn't work, just for the sake of being different? If it works, use it, what they've done, works.
Is it possible to have the current version and this new version installed at the same time? I use a program called Zotero for my major and I can't risk it running into any problems.
Shit, now I have to cancel the update the next time Firefox crashes. I don't want things simple. I want them cluttered like how they should/used to be.
I like it, it fits in a lot nicer now with windows 8s look as well.
Please tell me there's an option to turn it off. I hate that look. It's why I don't bother using Chrome.
My desktop still has Firefox 3.2.
It's a shame the Linux version of Firefox looks like total shit no matter what I do to it. Even the GTK+ theme extension doesn't stop it taking up more space than needed...I miss not having Stratiform.
Fucking shit. I can't move the refreshbutton where ever I want now. Thanks mozilla. EDIT: :v:
Well... Im not digging the chrome look :/.. As long as it works better than chrome does
Fucking shit. I can't move the refreshbutton where ever I want now. Thanks mozilla. EDIT: :v:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/
This addon is pretty great, it doesn't just bring the old theme back, it has a lot of options that you can use to keep some of the new stuff if you want (like the rounded tabs) and it adds back buttons that were removed in the new theme(like the refresh button and the separators), also allows you to move the new menu button around.
I just hope it doesn't break Vimperator and tree-style tabs. I can't live without those.
Why is there still an option to have a search-only bar
It broke my theme though. https://i.imgur.com/Icz0jMq.png Edit: There's a setting that fixed it. Took me a minute to find, though.
Why the fuck did we go back to rounded corners.
I think I prefer the old tab design for Linux - the new one doesn't look as good as it does on Windows. Though, I do like the menu. The old "Firefox" button didn't really fit on Linux before this update.
Looks like chrome. I like it.

i'll stick with this layout until i'm dead and if you don't like it, fight me. i used all 29 versions and i'm near invincible Edit: fight me mozilla https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/ Edit2: Used classic theme restorer and Stylish addon with the following code:
#TabsToolbar { background: none !important; } #nav-bar{ border-top: 0px solid !important; background: none !important; box-shadow: none !important; } #tabbrowser-tabs{ min-height: 0 !important; max-height: 25px !important; }
There's a bit of loose borders there but good enough for tonight. Seriously why did they think the wide spaces between tabs just to fit the curves in were a good idea? And I don't know about you but tabs on bottom seems like something easily customizable but just doing the about:config hack doesn't work anymore. Oh and back/forward are glued to the adress bar unless you force it from the config. Why? These are such tiny things but they make the browser what I want it to be.
My addon bar, its gone. What have they done to it?
I don't have any problems with my current layout and I'm not a fan of the changes with the new one. I don't see what makes it better.

I need a dark theme desperately
So I downloaded it. I like it. I dont know what you're all going on about.
Everyone is always a staunch opposer of changes here.
Yeah it is.
Like hell it is, FF 29 is fucking terrible. The customization interface is garbage, all of the navigation buttons were removed so you can't place them where you want. Plus, to even get the navigation buttons to show, you have to turn on icon+text mode which breaks uniformity of the URL bar. It looks like chrome, if I wanted a chrome lookalike, I'd use Midori. Then they started clumping elements together and making it where you need more addons to get back functionality that used to be there. 0/10 would not use again. This is like the idiot Gnome devs that fucked up an entire DE "because art" and functionality is unimportant. Their terribleness ended up fracturing the community 5 ways to Sunday and this is looking like it's going to be the same. I'll be sticking with FF 28 until the security plugins stop working, which thankfully is going to be a long time.
I think the UI is nicer looking but the new options menu is fucking horrid. It's great that it's not stuck in the title bar anymore but the design is awful and the customization menu for moving stuff around was just cut in half as far as actually being able to customize stuff. I need an addon just so I can have my refresh button and movable back/forward buttons now? Not a good idea.
