IMO, Wii U Pro Controller is the best designed, as of yet. It takes the 360's controller and fixes its arguable only flaw: the D-pad and gives it the best d-pad on the market: a Nintendo D-Pad. [editline]16th February 2013[/editline] I'd really like to feel that PS4 prototype
Except for the right thumbstick now being where the face buttons should be.
Except for the right thumbstick now being where the face buttons should be.
That's actually not a bad decision considering the fact that your left thumb is already on one thumbstick. It makes more sense to have both in the spot, plus it's for consistency with the Gamepad, which also has the thumbstick above the buttons. It'd be weird to have two controllers with different layouts.

It doesn't have enough thumbsticks in the wrong place, lets double that number."
They took the xbox controller and thought "You know what? Until you've held a Wii U controller and used it for a damn good period of time, you really don't seem to have the grounds to say that the placement is bad. How do you know unless you tried it?
step it up
The Saturn 3D pad is smaller than the duke, but is pretty uncomfortable unless you hold it just right. I should know.

Next hype-a-matic video is up
I wish Sony would make this natively support the PC. [editline]16th February 2013[/editline] The hacker crowd would appreciate it, and Sony could cash in on people who weren't going to buy the PS4 regardless by selling them at least the controllers.

The real problem with the Dual Shock's stick placement isn't that they're in the wrong place, it's that the controller itself is designed in such as way that you need to bend your thumb at 90 degrees to even reach where they are. You don't have that problem with the 360 Controller, the Wii U Gamepad, the Wii U Pro Controller or the Classic Controller/Classic Controller Pro.
^ holding it wrong
I wish Sony would make this natively support the PC.
At least we get games from Sony Online Entertainment maybe we can hope for more next gen, if PC CPUs are really being used it'll make it easier to port.
^ holding it wrong
The sticks are much further below the buttons/d-pad than with all the other controllers. It's just poorly designed, and honestly it's a mystery to me that it survived 3 generations.
I'd prefer my d-pad to be in a higher resting place so I don't have to bend my finger down (more unnatural) to change weapons in games like GTA. If my thumbs are already resting on the lower level the movement from down to up is much more natural to me. Why in the motherfuck are you acting like something that's subjective is a fact.
you're holding it wrong
More like Sony fucked up.
;39596906']Gioteck to the rescue!
I haven't heard anything good about these. From them falling off too easily, to them breaking easily. Waste of money. I'd much rather mod an Xbox controller into a PS3 controller.
You aren't supposed to hold it with your palms, you're supposed to cradle the handles in your fingers, with your palms in open air. This video will show you how to properly hold it. As you can see, holding it properly, your wrists should be straight and your thumbs should naturally lay directly over the sticks. When held properly, your fingers and wrists are in a very ergonomic and natural position. The fatter handles of this new PS4 controller will make it so your hands are in the same position, but your palm is gripping it instead of being in the air.
If you need to follow a guide to know how to hold a controller then it's not well designed, end of.
If you need to follow a guide to know how to hold a controller then it's not well designed, end of.
It's not that people need a guide to hold the controller, it's just that there is a loud minority of very dim people who are holding the controller wrong.
It's not that people need a guide to hold the controller, it's just that some people are incapable of adjusting the position of their hands until the controller sits comfortably.
Except it shouldn't be necessary. Literally every other Controller is just 'put your hands on it, play' without ruining your hands.
Except it shouldn't be necessary. Literally every other Controller is just 'put your hands on it, play' without ruining your hands.
Some people just aren't very bright. Sorta like how some people get stranded on escalators during a power outage.
Except it shouldn't be necessary. Literally every other Controller is just 'put your hands on it, play' without ruining your hands.
Tell that to the morons who couldn't figure out that you were supposed to hold the N64 controller's middle handle with your left hand. Suddenly, all of the jokes fall apart.
To make an analogy with mice: the PS controllers are like claw grip mice, the xbox is a palm grip mouse. The PS4 controller appears to be the old controller, but with inflated handles to make it a palm grip controller. I quite like this design. Maybe it's just because I love the look and feel of the DualShock, and I would dislike a redesign, to be honest. Perhaps I'm living in the past, but I just like things the way they are.
I can't imagine anybody being too dumb to hold the N64 pad right..
You would be surprised.
If you need to follow a guide to know how to hold a controller then it's not well designed, end of.
If you need to follow a guide to hold a controller you're an idiot.
How the fuck can some one not know how to hold a controller.
If you need to follow a guide to know how to hold a controller then it's not well designed, end of.
It's well designed. It's just that your to dumb to figure out how to hold it.
