Breitbart and its readership are degenerates, an example of the cancer plaguing the United States. The president of your country hired the CEO of a neo-nazi publication to run his campaign, and he was elected anyway. Fucking incredible.
He's definitely not a neo-nazi but he might be described as a believer in white supremacy. Let's keep our terminology clear and not throw around the nazi word willy nilly.

Normally I'm against painting people with a broad brush like that, but judging by the comments most of their readers really are total sheep. It's puzzling to me how anyone can be that much of an idiot.
I mean, to be fair, for this paricular case, it is really worplay misrepresentation. BILD does that too, to some extent.
Bild also prints corrections and loses lawsuits all the time :v:

To me it doesn't look like archangel125 made the allegation you think they made.
That said, it doesn't completely apply to the website either even though I expect it to be regularly cited by those circles.
Breitbart has doubled down, claiming its article is accurate and everyone else is lying.
The German press, together with establishment politicians, Germany’s police, and left-wing international news agencies have railed against Breitbart London’s reporting of an 1,000-strong crowd, many of whom were chanting ‘Allahu Akbar’, and firing fireworks at one of the oldest churches in Dortmund on New Year’s Eve.
The headlines — which lean on the establishment media’s new “fake news” trope — fail to reflect that reporting from some of the very same outlets now blasting Breitbart News confirmed almost every substantive fact about the Breitbart London report on the issue: there were 1,000, mostly male, mostly non-native German people gathered in the Leeds Square; there were repeated chants of “Allahu Akbar”; the ‘Free Syrian Army’ flag was flown; and there was a fire at the St. Reinold’s Church caused by the fireworks. The only correction Breitbart London is happy to make is the age of the church, which does not constitute a substantive error in our reporting.

I have a feeling this type of shit media is only going to get more common
When they have completely free reign, it's ought to get worse.

They're not that bad, if I could cite one good thing coming out of breitbart is this article

They are only not awful if their opponent is so much worse that spinning it at all would make them look cartoonishly evil instead, like in that case.
Every single 'article' not in that category that I've seen on that site had blatant disregard for reality and/or was littered with petty insults.
They seemed to go straight off in the deep end after the founder died and the current bloke took control. As far as I can recall, they used to be not completely dreadful.

It looks like it was founded to be the right-wing equivalent of The Huffington Post (which Breitbart ironically enough co-founded), so it's not a stretch to assume it was more moderate.
its funny how everyone gets triggered over poorly made and exagerated story on conservative side, but noone remembers shit that left wrote/told. proportions are 1 to 10 probably. but yeah f*cking altright making up stories. Both are cancer, cmon people haven't you seen THE FILM THEORISTS? t«They have 15 minutes segment about fake news.

Proportions are 1 to 10 probably indeed. Where did you pull those numbers from, and what is your source on this? While there might've been a few pieces of fake news written by those on the extreme left and then reported on by other sites, the majority of the fake news during the election process was from places like breitbart twisting the narrative to suit their ends.

Two wrongs don't make a right. C'mon man, surely you can see this.

the point is, both are tumorous. politics are like religion in middle age. Somehow people get so exited and angry regarding politics. Like that one case where wife divorced or stabbed husband because he voted for trump... like WHY????? (at this point i dont really know if its fake news or not) but people really need to chill...

That I can agree with, both sides got really angry during the election, but that doesn't absolve either side of responsibility. And there are always going to be people who take things so seriously they go absolutely bonkers, and stab folks or otherwise commit crimes. Point is, you can't prevent this mentality completely, but you can try minimizing it. But this is only going to happen when both sides learn to get along instead of dismissing each other and stop that stupid tribalistic mentality of identity politics they love to embrace.
Fox news successfully argued in court they have a right to outright lie awhile ago, so much for that.
lie != hate crime

I agree. You should be able to criticise your own side if it makes mistakes though.
lie != hate crime
well lie =omission, or distorting facts. both can be used in hate. Not that i am big fan of islamic immigration if you can call it that way, but you know...

What's the point of posts like this?
It's like if I correct someone that 2+2=5 is wrong and you come in and say "Yeah but 2+2=3 is wrong TOO!"
If that kinda shit isn't illegal, it should be. Misinformation is one thing, but blatantly making shit up to spread hate should be punishable.
No way should something like this be illegal. Allowing the government, anyone with power for that matter, to determine what is true and false is so incredibly dangerous. For one thing, just look at who we elected president - your ideas on what's fake probably differs from what Donald Trump thinks, and I don't think anyone here would trust him with separating the truth from garbage. If, god forbid, someone with an even worse political agenda than Trump finds themself in office, then they can easily declare any news that disagrees with their platform to be fake, and have them punished.
In a different era, this would have utterly sunk any other news publication.
But now truth is a lie, and all lies are true. A truly post-factual era has been realized, as the common people have been manipulated such that they no longer trust ANY news other than propaganda.
The American Hellscape continues to take shape. None will be safe.

Because it's not MSM, of course (although, isn't being the mouthpiece for what will be the government of the most powerful nation on earth as mainstream as you can get?)
