I bet Kat looks quite different without that 5 inch thick makeup.
Bad news for the girls I know that said they'd go lesbian for Kat.
Kat and Mau5.
Because of this I'm pretty sure they have to get married.
i hope they will have a nice life together
Proposing via twitter. That's kinda lame, though.
In a way, yeah, but I'm pretty sure the whole point is to do it in front of as many people as possible so it's a 'bigger deal'. Although I would've done it with a song if I was in his position.
deadmau5 is a bro. good on them.
You have to be kidding, one of the most arrogant pricks in electronic music.
You have to be kidding, one of the most arrogant pricks in electronic music.
As much as I'm not a fan of his, he has done stuff like admitting that all he pretty much does is press play at a concert: http://deadmau5.tumblr.com/post/25690507284/we-all-hit-play Which I see as not arrogant and quite honest.
He's quite honest about stuff and is pretty open if you ever watch his livestreams.
Its the way he wrote that article. There are plenty of live DJs out there who are very proud of the skill and effort they put into live performances. And they were offended by Deadmau5 who on more than one occasion has put on an invisible crown of "EDM" and think he speaks for every electronic music producer and performer out there: "WE all hit play".
jeez he's better looking with the giant mickey mouse head on
he is still probably better looking than you.
deadmau5 is a bro. good on them.
Nah he's a pretentious cunt who thinks he speaks for every DJ around the world.
and not one of you have made a 'cat and mouse' pun yet. well i suppose it would really be not funny
Nah he's a pretentious cunt who thinks he speaks for every DJ around the world.
You're just mad because he's right.
Nah he's a pretentious cunt who thinks he speaks for every DJ around the world.
Is this a joke? You can't be serious... He's a sick cunt, I thoroughly enjoy him pissing off Madonna and taking the piss out of other artists.
Nah he's a pretentious cunt who thinks he speaks for every DJ around the world.
So you actually don't think all they do is just press play? Come on. [editline]furthermore[/editline] I mean I don't have anything against electronic music but to say that doing a live EDM show takes more than that is simply not true.

Heres Ceephax Acid Crew doing a live performance in 2008 and he still carries around all those oldschool synthesizers now: Yes Iv taken it to the extreme, but anyone backing Deadmau5s argument literally knows nothing about electronic music apart from brostep and commercial house.

Guys there is a difference between playing a set at a showing and doing a live DJ performance with mashups/etc. It might as well be two completely different genres Generally if you are an EDM producer and you are at a show to DJ your own music, there isn't going to be much deviation beyond hitting play and making a good show of it. If you are a DJ who's producing a setlist of popular EDM music as apart of a live show or something, you are also probably going to be setting up the mix beforehand. However there is an entire skill set and culture revolving around live mashups, and they are entirely different types of shows. Most professional DJ's also know how to DJ purely on-the-fly as well, where you pick songs, build the tranisitions and DJ live by actually setting up the sequence/mix on the fly. This is done a lot of the time on informal gatherings, smaller scale performances, or stuff where there is a lot of long term DJ playing going on. When you DJ in this style, it has the advantage of you being able to build the mood of the set and control the crowd dynamically based on how the crowd is reacting to the music. Build up the hype and energy with one song so you can give the crowd enough energy to bash to a really intense song you want. If the crowd isn't really grabbing to a certain style or tempo you build the transition to be something thats a better fit. You can also have multiple DJ's jump on at any point to take over and add their own flavor to the mix. It's great when you are doing a really long-term show that is several hours long, and you gotta keep the music going. I personally find mixes done on the fly don't tend to not sound as good or "refined" as pre-mixed stuff that you get at most major broadcasts or events, but that's because there was a lot more time spent in developing the actual mood, flavor or emotion of a set when you can pre-mix it. Meanwhile a lot of on-the-fly DJing involves simply reacting to the crowd to give them a good time. Also its a lot more impressive when you are at a showing knowing that the DJ is actually making the mix on the fly, which helps build your reputation and interest as an EDM DJ. When you already have worldwide attention though, live-DJ'ing is most of the time completely unnessicary, as you've probably already "perfected" your style enough to know what you want to do anyways and how the crowd will react, you can polish your mix better by simply doing it before the show, and theres going to be so many people there that its simply easier and better to just pre-mix. Not to mention when you are known worldwide, people come into your shows expecting a certain style or they know what to expect already. Seeing as you already know what tracks and music the crowd will react best to, you might as well just pre-mix so it sounds as good as possible. Of course I'm not a pro DJ or anything, I'm just going off what I assume. Point is though theres totally different worlds and styles to DJing, almost to be point of it being like trying to compare dance music to rock music. All of them are valid, and all of them can produce fucking amazing music, live or recorded.
Well deadmau5 he was a drunk dick head on the Joe rogan podcast.
You have to be kidding, one of the most arrogant pricks in electronic music.
id rather him be arrogant and outspoken than a botoxed, advertisement for pepsi, cardboard cutout like avicii or tiesto

Congratulations on knowing jack shit about electronic music, and thinking Deadmaus is somehow representative as a DJ.
fine, you actually want to back his argument up and lump EVERY EDM DJ into one group?! Heres Ceephax Acid Crew doing a live performance in 2008 and he still carries around all those oldschool synthesizers now: Yes Iv taken it to the extreme, but anyone backing Deadmau5s argument literally knows nothing about electronic music apart from brostep and commercial house.
I'm pretty sure he was quite clear when he has stated he doesn't like producers who pretend to do more than push a few buttons on stage. He even goes as far as refusing to answer any questions for djmag because he said he's not a DJ, only a producer, and almost all of the top 25 on that list are not actual DJ's, but the so-called buttonpushers he was referring to. I'd be pretty upset if I was an actual DJ and some producer that has no idea what they're doing at a live show - Not to name Guetta, but Guetta - claims that what they do is difficult. It's the equivalent of comparing a top rated chef with someone who works at a fancy restaurant. They both make good food, but the latter is given little room for error. Also, I feel like you've taken his words too literally in a sense. As much as he's talking about the EDM as a whole, that 'whole' is still limited to the leaders of scene in terms of popularity. Is it explicitly stated? No, but it's pretty easy to assume this had you read the article objectively. I'll sum up the article for you: I'm not a DJ, I'm a producer, I don't do anything special at live shows. There are other producers who are pretending they're also DJ's when they're not. I'm sick of hearing them talk about how hard it is for them to put on live shows when they only hit a few buttons, like I do. These producers should stop pretending their live shows are more than what they are when the only important factor is what they create in their studio, which is what being a producer is all about. Now your closing statement is rather arrogant and pretentious so I'll just leave it like this.
She really unattractive IMO i'm saying 3 months.
Oh, cool... two people are going to get married.. I guess that's just.... riveting..
Deadmau5 wants the D.
Ronald Jenkees is another example
Holy shit, that was good.
guys you think they fuck with that mouse head on?
His old GF was hotter but Kat Von D probably has a better personality and is up for more fun stuff.
When I heard of this I immediately thought "Oh, she's engaged.... AGAIN."
