The front trunk on the Tesla model X can be opened without a key.

jokes on you i don't have an internal trunk release

If you are at that point then why bother with stuff in the trunk, take the whole car.

Good luck in a new car without the key.

Put it in a truck, tow it, hack it.
There's numerous ways to hijack and strip a newer car.
I agree with all of you but I would not want someone to have ease of access to my subwoofers and amp...
It's just the "frunk" (the front trunk under the hood) not the whole car. I don't think you tend to keep amps in there.
Any lock is easy to bust honestly; cars are super easy to get in to. Locks are there to deter unauthorized entry not to deny it.
Deter? It could take 10 seconds to open that trumk, hardly a deterrent.
Tesla warns you not to keep valuables in the frunk during delivery. It's that way so you can easily get in and cut the high voltage connection quickly.
WELL... /thread

Guess the hat wearing brat in the video didn't listen to Telsa, probably on his phone worshipping trump

Some automakers (ford are bad for this) have extremely bad security, many, many Ford Focus RS MK2's have been stolen by breaking in, programming a new key via the OBD port and a laptop and simply driving away with the keyless start system. All that takes a thief who knows what he's doing about a minute to do.

basically, avoid keyless starts, theyre shite and a huge security flaw if done badly (they usually are)

Thing is though, this flaw makes it possible to gain entrance without any visible forced entry. I'm not sure "The alarm went off" is going to be enough when asking for insurance for your stolen goods.

In my experience most of the time you keep your amp near your subwoofers (keeping your cables short is usually the biggest goal).

Yeah this is why I wanted a car with a physical key lock. Any lock can be circumvented given enough time, but you still get the same electronic authentication, with the physical aspect of the key itself. They have to at least work a little harder than just programming a new key.

Pretty sure the emergency release hanging out with the cover off is gonna be proof enough someone fucked with it, nobody's gonna fuck around putting that back in and covering it up with the alarm blaring next to their head

What kind of budget and intelligence do you think petty thieves are running on

But this would be like gaining entrance to just the engine bay on a regular car. Are your amp and speakers in the engine bay usually?

No it's like gaining access to the trunk that happens to be at the front? It's like having an old bug. Afaik the rear 'trunk' is rear facing back seats

You can put rear facing back seats in if you want to. You can also take them out. Most Tesla's don't have them.
