At this point, I honestly hope Trump wins. Hopefully, the huge responsibility that is the presidency and "leader of the free world" tempers his insanity and we continue the cycle of mediocrity.
Stupidly optimistic gamble on such a high stakes position.
Or he fucks enough shit up to make America the laughing stock of the world and people realize (lol) what a huge mistake it was voting for someone like him, and something major changes. Not sure which makes me more apathetic to the whole process.
Would like proof that in this scenario "major changes" are automatically better, let alone will definitely fix the "fucks enough shit up" beforehand.
Stupidly optimistic gamble on such a high stakes position
...Is it really a gamble? Regardless of what I hope happens, he has a pretty high chance of winning the presidency. My other option is Clinton. So... ?
Would like proof that in this scenario "major changes" are automatically better, let alone will definitely fix the "fucks enough shit up" beforehand.
I don't know what you're asking of me. I don't know wtf he's going to do lol. I'm just considering the two possibilities of either he'll be ehh or super terrible, because there's no way in hell he's going to be a great president.
I thought Jill Stein was an antivaxxer, doing some more research it still seems a little unclear to me. I know she's anti nuclear which is also lame though.
Sanders is unfortunately also anti nuclear.
...Is it really a gamble? Regardless of what I hope happens, he has a pretty high chance of winning the presidency. My other option is Clinton. So... ?
I'm not talking about it being a gamble whether he'll win or not, I'm talking about it being a gamble whether electing him will be worth the damage he'll cause.
I don't know what you're asking of me. I don't know wtf he's going to do lol. I'm just considering the two possibilities of either he'll be ehh or super terrible, because there's no way in hell he's going to be a great president.
And yet you somehow see the need to elect him. Fully knowing he'll cause damage to the country. What kind of stupidity is that?
If nothing else, the presidential "Debates" in the fall will be entertaining to watch. Get your popcorn ready guys.
boy I cant wait for a shitload of sanders supporters to basically ruin america because of pride. its going to be a long 4 years if that happens.
boy I cant wait for a shitload of sanders supporters to basically ruin america because of pride. its going to be a long 4 years if that happens.
You'll have the DNC to blame for that since they fielded nothing but Hilary Clinton this year. Sanders only got as far as he did on his supporters alone. Clinton had everything from Debbie Wasserman-Schultz to the media, and 90% of the DNC up her ass for the last year+. You can't blame Sanders supporters for not supporting the most (and I hate this word) "crooked" candidate they could possibly find, just on the premonition that she would do great because woman.
honestly I dont care about hillary. I love sanders, but im not going to potentially screw over america for 4 years and potentially countless generations because of it. so yes, I can blame sanders supporters. the president is supposed to be someone to look up to, someone to represent america. if people decide to throw away their vote instead of voting against trump, well, they cant complain if america goes down the shitter, because they could have stopped it. yea, its a scare tactic, whatever, but thats just how american voting works. you have to choose the least worst candidate in most situations.
You'll have the DNC to blame for that since they fielded nothing but Hilary Clinton this year. Sanders only got as far as he did on his supporters alone. You need them to pass laws and they offer ideas for how proposals should be changed to work better. Bernie failed here for 25 years, that's on him, not the other candidates who could get people on board. Do we have to go through the USVI superdelegate situation again?
Bernie supporters will only vote for Hillary when she's willing to compromise with them. So far she has shown no intention of doing so. Compromising means that both sides have to give something up, not just one. The Democrats want you to "compromise" by giving everything up while they get everything they want. Do not fall for this. Demand that they change their policies too.
I'm sick of pointing it out but why is campaigning and getting other politicians to agree with your ideas bad? Do we have to go through the USVI superdelegate situation again?
Bernie isn't a democrat, he is an independent running on the democratic ticket so that he can get the mainstream media attention he needed to reach out to the masses. If he didn't do that, he would be on the same level of popularity as Jill Stein was a year ago. (Who?) Clinton on the other hand has the support of the DNC naturally, and despite the efforts that were made to squash Bernie out of the race, he still maintain a respectable level of competition with Clinton. So imagine what would happen if you took the support that Clinton had and even gave just half of it to Sanders. But, of course that would never happen, because the DNC has nothing to gain from the destructive reforms Sanders wants to implement. Destructive to the occupying parties, which is the "political revolution" everyone wants. This is why you see people back Trump after Sanders, because they know Trump will be a huge bane to the Republican party, hopefully sparking some significant change in 4 years.
still baffles me that america is so adamant in their two party system.
As much as I dislike partisanism it's still better than hereditary rule [editline]11th June 2016[/editline]
A vote for Stein is a vote away from Hillary which is virtually a vote for Trump
This is the same logic that's perpetuating the red vs blue bullshit. Also do you think Trump is some unstoppable storm that we have to all bank on a criminal pos just to stop? If people like Jill they should vote Jill. You're just promoting Hillary.
Why the fuck are people so dedicated to the parties? I think just about everyone running is a vile piece of human waste but that doesn't mean when it comes down to it I'm gonna pick "the lesser of two evils" Clinton is evil and Trump is an absolute moron, but a vote not for them is a vote not for them.

I'm not actively advocating that he actually win. I'm just spouting bullshit because Bern isn't going to win, and I'm a bit heated from it. And because this whole election process blows. Get off my dick. I'm literally just entertaining a thought because right now my choice is between a criminal and a clown.

Encourage/push for Jill or adamant Bernie votes if it stings so much.

If you're voting Sanders because of his progressive policies than you're not going to agree with Trumps. So I can point out that all the first time voters wanting to as they put it "Burn America down" probably shouldn't be allowed to vote for the future of their country.
I swear the next time some motherfucker tells me I need to vote for Clinton so Trump won't win I'm going to vote for Donald Trump out of spite. You want me to sabotage my principles? Alright, but I'm going to fuck you over while I do that. BIG HINT: I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Also never seen anyone but anti trump saying that America will burn crap

Alright, but I'm going to fuck you over while I do that. BIG HINT: I'm not the only one who feels this way.
The argument for Sanders supporters voting for Clinton, or the inverse spoiler effect occuring, is based on the assumption that Sanders supporters and Clinton supports, generally, share the same principles as both candidates are very similar with regards to where they stand on policy. [editline]11th June 2016[/editline]
That's not necessarily true, Bernie and trump are different sets of values but still compatible. Also never seen anyone but anti trump saying that America will burn crap
Trump's presumably disastrous presidency leading to a popular progressive revolution in the voterbase is a popular bit of headcanon amongst hardcore Sanders supporters when all indications and evidence point towards him damaging the anti-establishment movement than helping it.

BIG HINT: I'm not the only one who feels this way.
This is the primary reason he's still going strong, and the fact that he's going strong despite so much opposition is making him look good too. Hillary supporters are capping themselves in the foot doing this just like Bernie ones did acting like idiots at rally's on tape. Probably could've escaped the trump presidency if we didn't lend so much attention and credit to the idea that he could make it. Bernie's failure is somewhat proof that ignoring/lack of attention and representation in media can work, from what I've heard. Too late now of course. All we can hope now is that he really isn't as bad as all the desperate flame from media has been saying, or more optimistically that his better rhetoric is genuine. Unless Jill makes it but just like Bernie they're being told to crawl back into obscurity cuz Hillary, so probably not. I just wish it'd be November already so the fighting could stop.
That's not necessarily true, Bernie and trump are different sets of values but still compatible. Also never seen anyone but anti trump saying that America will burn crap
The post directly above yours that you starred even says vote out of spite not policy.

Hillary supporters are capping themselves in the foot doing this just like Bernie ones did acting like idiots at rally's on tape.
I came to grips with the fact that no one gives a shit about policy when Trump was building victory from the Republican debates. If he wins against Clinton, a president who I feel would be absolutely better than Trump generally but especially from a progressive standpoint, I can't say I'd really be upset. America and the people like JumpinJackFlash who will vote out of spite because of internet conversations will get the president they deserve. That's democracy. It all works out in the end.
The post directly above yours that you starred even says vote out of spite not policy.
I know reading is hard but please, don't do this shit. I said I would vote that way out of spite, it's a personal decision. Not everything in the world has to be advocacy for some fucking cause. Going to dirty edit this one more thing: You missed the fucking point of my post by the way, all you saw was the one thing and kicked your little feet about it. My point was harping for Hillary Clinton is not going to convince people to vote for her, you're sabotaging your own efforts. I'm not at all alone in this sentiment.
America and the people like JumpinJackFlash who will vote out of spite because of internet conversations will get the president they deserve.
So which is it? I'm throwing my vote away or I'm irrationally spiteful? You don't get any other choice, I'm not voting for Hillary Clinton under any circumstances so I want you to tell me what I should do here. Pick one: Third party or Trump.
Are you a Sanders supporter?
I would have been seriously considering it if he won, I've mostly been undecided but lately heavily leaning toward third party. I think when it came down to it I would have voted for Sanders. Doesn't matter now and you're avoiding the question.

It's a right given to you, and you should be ashamed for abusing because someone said something mean to you on the Internet.
