Seems a bit steep to me. [editline]10th September 2012[/editline]
this is kind of annoying to me if i worked hard to buy a garage full of expensive cars, i should be able to buy those fucking cars - even if i'm not going to drive them
this too I dislike the concept of there being an upper limit on the amount of wealth or luxury you "deserve" to have
this is kind of annoying to me if i worked hard to buy a garage full of expensive cars, i should be able to buy those fucking cars - even if i'm not going to drive them
I don't care whether someone drives it or not. I just think when you get to the point where you're making THAT much money, that's the point where people should be charged 75%. A million Euros will pay for a decently sized house. Nothing like that though.
And so all the millionaires took their millions elsewhere, the end.
Sounds good in theory, BUT it might mean that some of the Dutch tycoons might end up taking their business elsewhere to somewhere with lower taxes.
That's exactly what is going to happen, it happened with France when they did something similar to this. And the same will happen to America if this would ever happen.
But this is France. Hollande is the name of the French president. It's very confusing.
But this is France. Hollande is the name of the French president. It's very confusing.
Well, I feel stupid :(
Please change the title to 'French president Hollande introduces 75% tax', it might confuse the crowd from Holland/ The Netherlands here.
Please change the title to 'French president Hollande introduces 75% tax', it might confuse the crowd from Holland/ The Netherlands here.
No, Leave it. It is guaranteed to weed out the people who don't read anything but the title of a thread before posting and create ~hilarity~
Please change the title to 'French president Hollande introduces 75% tax', it might confuse the crowd from Holland/ The Netherlands here.
And everyone else who isn't French
Good way to scare out the millionaire and billionaire investors out of your country! And no that's not a good thing
Does France have a different tax rate on investments like the US? Because if the millionaires are getting their money not through investments rather than income, would this increase apply to them?
And everyone else who isn't French
Ehh, I'm not going to be an elitist prick, but honestly I think most people should know Hollande by now. We don't write "US President Barack Obama to introduce 75% wealth tax".
Good way to scare out the millionaire and billionaire investors out of your country! And no that's not a good thing
BUT MILLIONAIRES ARE STEALING MY TAX MONEYS
Just to make it clear to some people here, this law would tax any annual income you earn past the million mark It's not a tax for people who have over a million in the bank
Good way to scare out the millionaire and billionaire investors out of your country! And no that's not a good thing
Just because other countries (America) are retarded and don't know how to tax people who are obscenely rich, it doesn't mean that everywhere needs to be retarded with no taxes for people who are obscenely rich.
Because they (might have actually, maybe not) earned it?
that's a want, not a need
No problem with this what so ever.
No problem with this what so ever.
I suppose youre not a millionaire
I suppose youre not a millionaire
I suppose he's not, but are we really to be sorry for them? They'll still be making loads of money, and while I think this is maybe just a bit on the hard side, I'm not gonna lose any sleep over it.
I wish I had a million.
Wow. That's bullshit. I think the rich should pay a bit more than someone that is living from paycheck to paycheck but 75% is about 25-30% too much.
I think that if a man earned his money he shouldn't have them taken from him. Why should Mr X pay give away 75% of his profits just because Mr. Y failed at life?
omg i have to live off of 1,025,000 not 1,100,000 qq :(
Just read an article about French guys moving to London to avoid this tax. People will just try and avoid the taxes if they're too high. I think 45-50% is the best top tier for tax.
I think that if a man earned his money he shouldn't have them taken from him. Why should Mr X pay give away 75% of his profits just because Mr. Y failed at life?
Maybe because Mr. Y might have failed at life because of some unfortunate situations? Like being severely crippled in a car accident by a drunk driver at a fairly young age, just to name one example. The solution would be that every country with a proper banking system all jacks up the taxes for insanely rick individuals. Keep the excessive part of your wealth invested in the country, or you'll end up paying it off as tax either way. [t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/i-want-to-believe-32491-1278714432-4.jpg[/t]
but then all it would take is one country to lower taxes and then everyone would flock there game theory is cruel
Indeed, hence the picture.
75% is way too much.
that's a want, not a need
if i earn a lot of money fairly, i should be able to spend it on whatever bullshit i want, even if i don't actually need it
Oh no they are going to have to sell the Lamborghini they bought last year! Whatever are these poor millionaires going to do!
