Thought we were taller than that to be honest, that said at 6'5/7 and im use to towering over people after 24 years, in just about all my school photos i was told to sit on the floor with the little people so i could fit in the frame.

I find the area you're in in the UK really makes a difference. I'm 5'9", and just going from town to town I might feel really short or relatively tall. Then again, I live in the centre of the South in all its Tudor-housed glory, so I guess we're still short to adapt to our tiny doorways.

I'm 5'10 and sometimes I feel tall but sometimes feel short. depends who I'm standing near really. it's just an average boring height.

I like being short, though. I don't know why, I just do.
