It sucks that they got attacked but maybe they shouldn't have been dumb cunts in the first place??? [editline]13th February 2014[/editline]
Pfft I look identical, and I have perscription glasses, and a large scar on my forehead in the exact same place that I've had since I was one, that was probably my #1 nickname in school for over 10 years, and if that's not bad enough my name also rhythms with dick. Fuck this kid he had it easy
"My personal anecdote trumps any experience that this other person completely unrelated to me went through!"
He said: "It was deliberate and planned. It was a sustained attack in which you used the knife as a weapon and your foot as a weapon."
Article forgot milk.
Pretty much the same deal as that video where one kid who gets bullied suddenly picks up the bully and piledrives him into the floor. If you keep pushing someone's buttons, they'll eventually snap. That goes for anyone. No person is immune to this kind of mental abuse. Bullying turns people into ticking timebombs. Obviously what he did was wrong, but the fact that he himself went to the police and turned himself in should be a good indicator that this guy doesn't deserve to get jailtime.
I'm not sure the court understands who the real victim is.
He just could have changed his glasses. Honestly, they are the only thing about him that reminds me of Potter.
Yeah just deal with it Because it's that simple right
It's depends on who you are. An angry person is obviously going to have some trouble, but just because it isn't simple doesn't mean it's impossible.
Even if he was bullyed, and they pushed him to the limit, he shouldn't have used the knife. If he didn't, his sentence would be a lot smaller. He had some luck though, the damage the knife did was pretty small, considering all the things that could've happened because of it - She could be dead now, literally.
Here I think that qualifies in some way. Sure, everyone's different, but life is going to have a hell of a lot of fuckbags, and it's just going to get worse if you try to fight it. It really sucks, but since it's pretty much everywhere, I'd say to just deal with it and ignore it. The bullies will then move on to a weaker target. Dunno if that's the kind of encouragement these kids need, though.
Bullies are part of this "everyone is different" thing you said. One bully might give up and move on if you don't react, but others won't and it could be made worse. Instead of telling people to ignore it and hope it goes away, why not just focus on why there is bullying and stopping it. I always see people in bullying threads telling people to "just deal with it/ignore it" but they shouldn't have to be told that in the first place.
Wow a lot of Harry potter lookalikes in this thread
The way I see it, if you bully someone enough for them to lash back, you probably deserve what you get.
Well I do agree to an extent. Like if someone gets bullied to where they snap and murder someone I can't get behind. But my point wasn't that 'they didn't deserve it' it was that people shouldn't get told to just ignore it and hope it stops. I think mostly that does work, but then doesn't the bully just shift to someone else? The problem is still there, just not on the original target.
Wow a lot of Harry potter lookalikes in this thread
More like bullies are not creative at all when it comes to pick on someone. I got called Harry Potter as well. The most I've done was when a kid and his sister kept harrassing me in the bus to school. At some point it was too much so I punched him in the teeth. It literally did nothing to him, the dude even stayed and continued shit talking, so I punched him again. Then I forgot what happened, I guess he got tired of being punched and changed seat.

Then again, I tried that shit myself and all that got done was my bullies got moved in the classroom....still did everything they could to start shit with me. I think something is severely wrong when you get pushed to the point of hurting people because there were absolutely no other alternatives. Bullying is horrible and fucking stupid. All it does is cause people pain. Can't say I have sympathy for any bully who gets the shit beat out of them by their victim. Having said that, I also don't condone going after people with a knife because "they deserved it."
Sure is a lot of 'i was bullied for x and dealt with it, therefore he's a pussy who can't take shit' up in this thread.
Basically people who think they know something don't know shit. Nothing new.
Karma is a bitch :))
I go to a school with kids with moderate to severe behavioral problems (mostly depression and bipolar) and what do you think forced them into this school? Bullying is a horrible problem and all the state does to stop it is completely segregated those being bullied from general campuses and ignores the problem [editline]13th February 2014[/editline] I used to get called harry potter as well. Which is weird because I'm asian
I once sent someone to hospital with a concussion after he and his "mates" wouldn't leave me alone for months in school. Funnily enough I had a much easier time after that. This guys' actions after the throwing of milk probably point to a more mental problem.
For fucks sake OP, after reading that title reading the article nearly made me spit out my cereal
He just could have changed his glasses. Honestly, they are the only thing about him that reminds me of Potter.
Except glasses can be really, really expensive.
Except glasses can be really, really expensive.
As if a change of glasses would have changed anything. They were only calling him harry potter because he wore glasses despite them looking nothing like harry potters glasses. Because apparently having a disability is funny
What, apparently this happened in my city. First I've heard of it!
So instead of fixing the root of the problem in the first place, they apply a short-term band-aid. It's cool when things aren't being done right.

If you hurt them it'll get worse, if you try to cope with him it'll either get worse or you might make a friend, but being friends with a bully doesn't end well that often, and if you do something like this, then the bully or even the inmates at the jail or prison or whatever he's at won't be the worst. If you do this to a person, you'll eventually start to hate yourself. Call me a cynic, but it's a shitty world we live in.
Pretty much gone through life with "Dexter's Lab" remarks cause my names Dexter and I have glasses, never really got me worked up but it was a constant that never let up. "Do you have a lab?" or "Where's DeeDee?" every other day could really get to you if you let it. Then again if I didn't have glasses people would think I murder people in my spare time so that's a positive!
thats probably the worst kind of thing you could ever say to a bully
satirically playing along with a bully is the best way to deal with a bully. Gotten me out of so many jams as a kid.
should have given them the D
had all the people on my high school football team call me diggory because my first name is cedric idgaf, cedric is a kickass name
I have a friend that looks just like that, and they call him Potter too...
But... why didn't he just use the Avader-Kadavera curse?
why didn't he just use the Avader-Kadavera curse?
because that's not a spell.
