• Activision Admits 'Call of Duty: Ghosts' Didn't Outsell 'Black Ops 2' At Launch

Before everyone jumps on this and saying it's because Ghosts is a terrible game I'm fairly the drop in sales is because we're on the verge of next gen, a lot of people are putting off buying and waiting for the new consoles first.
This is the real pathetic thing. You are just making stupid and blind posts without thinking. Of course the sales are down due to the transition. Every single thing that has to do with Call of Duty isn't wrong by default.
So it's absolutely impossible that the game is just genuinely bad and the reviews/quality of the game is impacting sales? It's receiving some of the lowest scores a COD game has had in a long long time and in general people just don't give much of a shit about it. The people I know who buy into this franchise every time without battering an eyelid don't even care for it anymore. True I might be jumping the gun a bit but it's undeniable that the game isn't being received nearly as well as any of its predecessors and I doubt that would change at the release of the next gen consoles.
I guess the real question is whether people are genuinely sick and tired of CoD, or whether there will be a big sales surge when people buy it for the new consoles.
I guess the real question is whether people are genuinely sick and tired of CoD, or whether there will be a big sales surge when people buy it for the new consoles.
A little bit of both. People are slowly getting bored of CoD and Infinity Ward in particular built a bad reputation after MW3, which while selling well wasn't well received by even fans of the series. That said, it's not like CoD is dead. Ghosts is still going to sell a ton of copies and while Battlefield is a great series and an obvious competitor, it doesn't eclipse CoD as a shooter experience. So if I had to bet I'd think the next gen sales surge will be smaller to reflect the slowly lowered interest in CoD games, but they aren't going anywhere by a long shot. Especially if Treyarch can keep it together. Blops 1 and 2 were very well received by fans and critics alike.
Treyarch is a leagues better CoD maker than IW. World at War was really good.

Personally I thought BLOPS2 was meh, but World at War and Black Ops 1 were pretty nice.
