Bullet could have just hit the leg above or below the knee, close enough to look like a knee injury without actually hitting it, especially with tissue damage and blood on the region. Doesn't have to be a media conspiracy, most likely just a simple mistake from whoever initially reported the story.
Fair enough, but this story just went from "Man is robbed and has his entire career ruined", to "Man is robbed and has a slight leg injury".

They still tried to ruin his career though. Whoever is responsible for this followed him, robbed him, and shot him in the knee (or tried to) knowing he was a professional athlete. That's pretty darn intentional. Just makes me wonder if this was a targeted attack, or just an attack of opportunity from some thugs who happened to recognize him?

However I doubt it was the same people, but it's strange that two Knicks players have been mugged recently, with one nearly forced to retire. Glad to hear he'll be able to recover successfully, he's damn lucky.
If someone robbed him then shot him, it was personal. In New York, people don't rob then shoot. They either rob or shoot. They already had his gold; thats probably worth a games paycheck. And whoever shot him did not want him dead either because otherwise they would have done that instead. He was from the Bronx. Someone he crossed paths with, or something he may have said or done would have gotten people to call the shooting on him.
This makes me sad. Imagine dedicating your life to being one of the best in a sport and then some pussy destroys your knee. His career is over, no surgery can fix a knee torn apart by a bullet. I know 2 lads who were kneecapped and both are on disability checks and can't work full time. Can't even walk the same. Obviously he's a celebrity and will have access to the best surgeons in the world but it will never be the same. [editline]2nd January 2016[/editline] NVM, seems like it grazed his knee or something. Glad to hear.
