They ventured outside of the "safe zone" on the internet and got their shit kicked in. The internet itself it pretty lawless territory in the sense that responsibility for your actions is limited to the enforcement of local sites only and rarely reaches law enforcement. When you go outside of the system and start fucking with major things like that, you're gonna get bit.
