Tell that to George Washington.
All your silly revolution did was the wrap the same shit in different packaging.
Lemme guess, the army starts killing the protesters?
Hong Kong has a tiny garrison. and the cops are mostly unarmed. It's one of the safest cities in the world. I love it when I'm there, it's so much safer than what I'm used to.
All your silly revolution did was the wrap the same shit in different packaging.
And the trollfest begins now.
All your silly revolution did was the wrap the same shit in different packaging.
I'm an American, yet I know this is true. It won't change the mentality of a society.
Don't believe fox news. The average citizen in China has far more rights than they did 20 years ago. You can't say the same thing about America.
That's why they run protesters over with tanks. [editline]11:16PM[/editline] I don't recall the U.S. government ever doing that in its two centuries of existence. [editline]11:17PM[/editline] China has had thousands of years to sort their shit. [editline]11:17PM[/editline] Currently the shit is unsorted [editline]11:17PM[/editline] Fyi

[editline]11:26PM[/editline] FYI a LOT of people died in the Tiananmen protests. Hundreds confirmed, thousands suspected. They burned the bodies of the dead so we'll never really know how many people they killed. [editline]11:27PM[/editline] And no, they aren't going to live that down as long as they are a police state that still pretends it didn't happen.
Oh fuck, here we go.
The British should never have given up the jewel that was the Crown Colony of Hong Kong to the god damn Chinese.
Haha.
Isn't Hong Kong already fully independant? I mean, HK and China really have in common is that they are the same race. Chinese live in China, Cantonese live in HK, and HK has their own currency and language.
I think you should join the protests Billeh
I actually saw them marching through the streets. Who would walk through the streets in 34 C (90-ish F) degree weather is beyond me, but I guess it's worth it. I should take pictures next time I hear about a protest. That's not anywhere near independent, though. Chinese officials appoint the leaders in Hong Kong. [editline]12:30PM[/editline]
Let's hope there won't be another Tienanmen square...
No, China wouldn't dare. I've been there. It's a nice place, especially where the high houses and Bentleys are.
Tiananmen Square 2. I was going to do a logo like I did in the Iran thread but I lost the PSD.
Tiananmen Square 2. I was going to do a logo like I did in the Iran thread but I lost the PSD.
There was actually a shit-ton of Tienanmen remembrance protests in the streets this year. It's the twentieth anniversary if you didn't know.
You've been there? :v:
Yes. My Dad lives there. I spend a lot of time over there.

With complete reconciliation and legitimate social change as a result. [editline]02:09PM[/editline] See we don't pretend that didn't happen.
social change as a result.
Welcome to china
Welcome to china
Where's the social change? Or is that something you're not allowed to talk about there either?

Is that why we can't see it? It's secret social change? [editline]02:11PM[/editline]

I'm aware of the counter culture movement. [editline]02:11PM[/editline] You on the other hand are comparing Waco to Tienanmen Square
Where's the social change?
You simply cannot be that ignorant. I refuse to believe it.
You simply cannot be that ignorant. I refuse to believe it.
Point it out. You know, amidst the death vans, silencing of dissenters and massive censorship of any derogatory or inflammatory remarks about the great People's Republic.
