Execution is impractical from a financial standpoint and immoral from a social one. Financial because it costs a [I]lot[/I] of money to execute someone, not because of the method but because of the paperwork, court fees, etc. socially it's bad because we've gone past the need to kill for retribution. The point of jail is to remove a dangerous subject from society, the way they are punished is in taking their freedom, not their life. The people who did this are fucking bastards and don't deserve to live in this world, so they should live in jail instead.

For once, I wish that there were more watchful vigilantes who'd be able to deal with the perpetrators before the cops arrived. It wouldn't be due process, or respecting the rule of law, nor would it be sanctioned by the government. But it would be justice.
