I will avenge my children's blood, says female sniper.

guys, let's stop discussing about her guns.
She seems like quite the mama bear; seems that chaos hath no fury like a mother whose kids were killed. That said she definitely seems "broken" in the mind, the death of her kids must have made something snap in her head, which I guess is why she apparently feels good (shouting "Yes!") when she shoots government soldiers. When this is all over, someone should probably write a biography about "Guevara Female Sniper"; it'd probably be quite the story, though it might open old wounds on her part if she sits down for a proper interview. If she's still alive by the end of this, that is; even though she's a sniper, who tends to hang back from the line of fire, someone could still snipe back or get lucky with a rocket launcher.
War is indeed a terrible thing, but the many incidents can shape people into warriors; even a mother and teacher like "Guevara" was shaped into a soldier by what she had seen. But even if the horrors of war turn you into a fighter, rather than drive you insane, they still leave their scars on your mind, and after things like that happen you can never be the same. They say war never changes, but actually it does change; it changes people.
A female sniper in a warzone. Why does she remind me of Sniper Wolf from Metal Gear Solid?

wasn't she a kurd though?
ideologically they couldn't be further apart.
Guys
It looks more like a Gun Gun
How can you snipe with a machine gun rofl
while i would really like this thread to stop being about guns id just like to say that machine guns (light, medium, or heavy) are far more accurate than marksman rifles, assault rifles, battle rifles, and rival the range reliability of sniper (extreme distance) rifles. this is usually due to the factors of:
- weight
- a bipod, tripod, or other universal resting apparatus coming standard
- longer barrel
- far more durable build
- specialized recoil stock
that dirty ruskie machine gun, the PKM, boasts an effective range somewhere around (some say over) 1,200 meters. that is almost two times as accurate as an M16 rifle, which is good up to no more than 600 meters.
---
but again i think this should no longer be about guns. i mean, it's clear she isn't using the same one in all of the pictures. one shows a bolt action, another shows one that appears to be semi-automatic, etc. etc.
personally i think people in this woman's shoes, those freedom fighters, are brave people, whatever their reasons. when you are backed into a corner by those who hold all the power in your government and you choose to stand up, you have a gift not many people have: courage.
Considering most of their other sniper rifles can't even hit anything past 400 meters, I wouldn't exactly say Russia really knows much about good sniper rifles. And to get more technical about it, the SVD has design flaws in its barrel and hand guard that result in poor accuracy, thus poor range, thus poor sniping. Also do you realize how bad Russia's budget is? They still use AKMs and even Mosin-Nagants, plenty of the gear they use they use because they can't afford anything newer.

Correct you are, it was made as more of an infantry rifle that got forced into the sniper role, and consequently isn't particularly good at it.
I've used a Dragunov a couple times in the Finnish army, and it can definitely hit targets past 400 meters.
I don't know about you, but the most amazing thing is, her dedication.
You don't just willy nilly pick up a 5 1/2 pound rifle and head around town popping baddies.
She must have amazing skills, and alongside that, she is rightfully dedicated to continuing this fight. I support her through and through.
She could be firing a Dragunov. The FAL is a good rifle for mid-range work, but I'm sure she doesn't use just that gun all the time.
How can you snipe with a machine gun rofl
Fit a scope to it.
Ask Carlos Hathcock, he did that with a M2 Browning and got a number of 1000+ Yard kills with it.
The Dragunov was intended as more of a battle rifle, or marksman rifle. It's more in the vein of the M14, and is mainly used to add ranged firepower to a squad since modern assault rifles tend to boast lower effective ranges than the bolt-action and semi-automatic weapons that were used in earlier wars.
So gun nitpicking aside, the important thing is that she's doing it in honor of her children. Aleppo and the surrounding area is living hell for these people, we can't fathom that.

I hope you mean Aleppo, or you're way off base

Sorry, yeah I meant Aleppo.
is it just me or does this just seem like propaganda by the rebels, similar to how the rkka promoted zaitsev?
