I hear a lot of people shit talking about the RROD but the PS3s are chalk full of their own problems, like this, failure to read discs, failure to accept discs fully into the system, etc.

They've actually got a few pretty cool games I wouldn't mind owning one for, but not at their prices.
People say PS3 has no gaems because a lot of it consists of things you've probably all already played but shinier.

I think this error exist because of the same reason that screwed up Zunes. The PS3 thinks that the todays date is 29/02/2010, and as it's actually 1/03/2010 the PS3 gets confused.
The Xbox "E71" (Corrupted kernel file system) along with a flashing red quadrant is more attractive than the PS3's long ass string of 8001050F

What's your model number?
Sounds somewhat like y2k. My guess is that the console has an issue with getting over certain date, which fucks up everything else.
I've got the old model, and I can clearly see that something is wrong.
Luckily I had disabled internet connection before I turned it on, therefore the bug has not really - done anything yet.
So I'm wondering whether or not I should enable the connection or if it would be better to just wait for tomorrow.
I successfully set the date and time, and I was under the impression that this could not be done for those who have already got the bug.
