Oh, I somehow thought it was a sarcastic response to my post.
Meanwhile Virgin Media has no plans whatsoever to migrate to IPv6.
Have you seen the thread on their forum? Its been going for about a year now and the response is always "we will begin testing once the need arises". Its ridiculous, if I was in their position I would want to at least test it out before having to use it.
Good night sweet prince, let ivp6 arise
Meanwhile virtually no UK ISP has any plans or capability to carry any kind of non-tunneled IPv6.
Bravo, UK
BT. Not giving a single fuck all day, every day.
ISPs should have been moving, or at least starting the move to supporting IPv6 ages ago, I know it would be expensive, and it would take time. But it would save the problems we may begin to run into now.
Also I wonder how BT are going to handle this with their Homehubs when they start transitioning. Last I checked they have no IPv6 support at all. Lots of internet-less illiterates if they don't start sending out new ones.

Attack of the Slowpunch.
let's have apicnic
Oh noooooo the internet is doomed.
Nah we're good.
Guys the title makes it sound like it's a few ip addresses received, but that's a HUGE subnet of em.
/8
11111111.00000000.00000000.00000000
255.0.0.0
approximately:
16581375 addresses
*2
33162750 addresses
I'm still not completely sure what it means now that all the unallocated IPv4's are gone.

For a user, it means nothing for quite a while as those were just unallocated addresses.
I got a question
Can people on a IPv6 only isp connect to IPv4 server?
I got a question

I think most ISPs with IPv6 support tunnel to IPv4 servers, though it is usually the other way around right now, as more ISPs have no IPv6 support.
So can anyone tell me how this affects anyone that already has internet
Up next America is still trying to bring faster internet to the nation by asking Canada for its Wifi password. More at 11.
Meanwhile in Nevada, Frontier has absolutely no plan I'm sure.
They can't even fucking fix a server crash within a few days, sometimes internet is down for a week. Not good considering I have school online.
They still have a plan B if they don't get over to IPv6 in time

Well I don't mind not playing online multiplayer games and shit like that for a while
As long as I have all my guilty pleasures....
So can anyone tell me how this affects anyone that already has internet
It's more a question of who will be affected.
All existing servers will stay in place, only problem is that new device establishments will only be local and void to other internet users.
ITT: Everyone's okay, but no new websites/servers for you.
Canada's just got worse, though.
This. Canada's average speed is below that of the US, which is seen as quite low compared to most of Europe. US sits at about 10.47mbps whereas the UK sits at 10.48. Norway and Finland are around 14 while Sweden is at nearly 25.
Damnit Canada, get yo' shit together. I hate Shaw (Don't get me started on Telus... BLEH)
