Because Afghanistan has worked out great so far. An educated and heavily armed population spread out over an area fifteen times larger than Afghanistan and a population ten times greater coupled with a culture based around the notion of revolution = freedom won't be a problem at all for the US military completely unaided by NATO allies.
hey did you know violent revolution is one or more of the following (in a first world society) 1. very difficult 2. doesnt solve underlying problems 3. stupid
they'll either do nothing at all, or do nothing at all which makes me happy, i love my guns. but seriously, we have ass-backwards gun laws. i say axe the ATF, make a new bureau, have them get rid of the tax stamp bullshit (but continue to stamp f/a weapons, which would be legal in a perfect world), host mandatory training courses with the money flowing in from everyone buying their full-auto so every gun owner gets trained properly and we weed out the psychos the main issue with the tax stamps and shit is that an SBR or SBS is actually less deadly than a full stocked, full barreled long gun. the ATF doesn't understand how weapons can be used, but they make the laws for them, so the laws end up ass backwards.
You are so so wrong. Please give me some reasoning on why this could never happen? You are talking about one of the most armed populations on the planet with a history of revolution and warfare. If your argument is that American's are too apathetic you are wrong about that too, I don't think it would take much to spark off an armed revolution here in the United States.
sry dude but life isn't a overly dramatic action + social science fiction novel that you find at the back of an chapter 11 store

[editline]2nd October 2012[/editline] we're a second world country
in what possible scenario would the reward of owning full auto weaponry outweigh the risks of making them legal
we're a second world country
the usa is pretty well developed enough to consider it first world but if you are talking about how shit public services are to the point people feel the need to have a gun to protect themselves and healthcare costs up the ass i can see where you are coming from
the usa is pretty well developed enough to consider it first world but if you are talking about how shit public services are to the point people feel the need to have a gun to protect themselves and healthcare costs up the ass i can see where you are coming from
Throw in corruption and the degrading infrastructure.
Here's how you reduce gun violence: Promote safety courses and education in proper use.
Proper use in how to murder human beings? Good tip.
in what possible scenario would the reward of owning full auto weaponry outweigh the risks of making them legal
because criminals have them anyway now. it's easy to turn a 10/22 full auto, and it's easier to buy an illegal gun coming up from mexico. also, retards think that full auto=hail of bullets that kills everything immediately. full auto is NOT meant to hit people, it's meant to suppress over long distances (in long guns at least). I'd rather a shooter have a full auto gun that he doesn't know how to use than have an accurate semi-auto that, by default, teaches discipline
golly i guess in that one perfect CCW holder's wet dream scenario i'd be in a lot of trouble, i'm willing to take that risk to avoid a million other scenarios where CCW holders can cause more trouble than otherwise.
I don't really think any of those are a CCW holder's wet dream. Pretty sure very few people want to be shot at.
the afghans aren't winning and they have the home advantage lol. we're still demolishing and decimating them, we're just pulling out because we have no reason to be there. trying to compare the 1st world, relatively spoiled and well off population of america to a nation of fighters living in a much harsher and brazen civilization is completely moronic, which is par for the course for people on your side of the argument
It has taken a decade and yet peace still isn't even remotely present. The soldiers working there are operating against foreign natives. How well will that work out when they are told to shoot their own? When state guard units are federalized to suppress their own population by force? You can toss insults all you want, but it just weakens your argument.
Proper use in how to murder human beings? Good tip.
proper use in how to not shoot yourself, which is where most gun fatalities come from the courses i'd like would be mandatory, and be used to weed out crazies because we would put sane, responsible teachers in charge (ex-military, long-time recreational shooters, ex-LEO) who can fail anyone based on their attitude in the class it's better than what we have now
because criminals have them anyway now. it's easy to turn a 10/22 full auto, and it's easier to buy an illegal gun coming up from mexico. also, retards think that full auto=hail of bullets that kills everything immediately. full auto is NOT meant to hit people, it's meant to suppress over long distances (in long guns at least).
in what possible scenario would the reward of owning full auto weaponry outweigh the risks of making them legal
They currently are legal. And do you know how many crimes have been committed in the US with a machine gun since they had to be registered in 1932? Two. Two crimes. And one of them was a police officer using his department issued weapon to kill a witness.
if they're not meant for hitting people why on earth would YOU need one for self defense?
I don't need one for self defense. I want it and I, as a sane individual, can responsibly handle it. I won't be shooting anyone with it, nor would the majority of gun owners. we're talking about the 1% that loses their shit and starts shooting people. the 1% is what we're changing the laws for.
So why do civilians need military rifles?
Why does the military need military rifles? A military made up of civilians. In a nation full of civilians made up of former military.
It has taken a decade and yet peace still isn't even remotely present. The soldiers working there are operating against foreign natives. You can toss insults all you want, but it just weakens your argument.
yeah like i said i'm not debating this because its literally insane and the only argument you guys ever make is dumb shit like this where you say "maybe.. just maybe.. if we banded together" then use afghanistan as a comparison as if there's any legitimate comparison between lazy content americans mildly upset by politics and a population of afghanis that have a history of overthrowing invaders. if i wanted to toss insults i'd remind you that you advocate mass murder, there's nothing insulting about letting you know that you're delusional and straight up wrong for thinking a violent revolution is feasible or even necessary in the united states
Proper use in how to murder human beings? Good tip.
as silly as it sounds, education (or a lack of) is an incredibly prominent factor in crime. a government that gives it's citizens free gun courses is also one that's likely to care about the people a little bit more. an environmental improvement would improve the US' crime situation hugely
Why does the military need military rifles? A military made up of civilians. In a nation full of civilians made up of former military.
Except the military undergoes training and is employed by the state to deal lethal force in certain circumstances. A civilian is not part of the military. (And paramilitaries are/should be illegal)
Except the military undergoes training and is employed by the state to deal lethal force in certain circumstances. A civilian is not part of the military. (And paramilitaries are/should be illegal)
I'd reference vets who stay attached to their military equipment. Its not unheard of honestly.
Except the military undergoes training and is employed by the state to deal lethal force in certain circumstances. A civilian is not part of the military. (And paramilitaries are/should be illegal)
everyone should undergo training and be employed by the state to deal lethal force it works for switzerland
everyone should undergo training and be employed by the state to deal lethal force it works for switzerland
Then whom runs the grocery stores in Switzerland?
Then whom runs the grocery stores in Switzerland?
the militia
everyone should undergo training and be employed by the state to deal lethal force it works for switzerland
Oh that would go over well with conservatives, and liberals. Conspiracy theorists would go nuts.
Then whom runs the grocery stores in Switzerland?
they are autonomous while everyone shoots it out on the streets
Oh that would go over well with conservatives, and liberals. Conspiracy theorists would go nuts.
yeah we're not ready for it yet i'm kind of a revolutionary mind~
everyone should undergo training and be employed by the state to deal lethal force it works for switzerland
Compulsory military training would probably reduce accidental firearms deaths MASSIVELY, actually
I believe Dale Gribble said it the best. "You don't have a gun, and a robber breaks into your home. What are you gonna shoot him with?"
yeah we're not ready for it yet i'm kind of a revolutionary mind~
did you know almost all violent revolutions end up doing either one of the following: 1. not achieving their intended goals 2. screwing over a lot of people
I believe Dale Gribble said it the best. "You don't have a gun, and a robber breaks into your home. What are you gonna shoot him with?"
so deep
did you know almost all violent revolutions end up doing either one of the following: 1. not achieving their intended goals 2. screwing over a lot of people
i'm not pro violent revolution that's not what i meant i have to go to the doctors now fuck
