Nowadays, with the quality Mc Donalds offers -Deplorable- and the alternatives, why would someone EVEN eat at that place?

At least, here in Argentina, there's no damn excuse. Just those who are too lazy to find out or try out new alternatives keep going there, being pulled by marketing...like, how could you say this:

When they are basically the same price, or worse, the second burger is cheaper?
For reference, a Double Cuarto de Libra combo is around 120 (WTF) Pesos here.
And the tierra de nadie burgers range from 70 to 90, plus with a coke, its 100, and you add in real french fries, 120.
Please raise the hand those who would prefer a salty 6 months stationed crude ham to those who prefer a jabugo crude ham, all else being equal...
EDIT: I've been to the US, and damn, with places like Five Guys, that place that has a mountain on its logo and so on...
This post always pops up, doesn't it.
What it boils down to usually is that McDonald is not a fancy restaurant. I go the McDonald to sit there, chill, stuff that burger into my mouth and leave 10 minutes later, the burger is slapped on a serve tray, not on a dish and is served in front of your nose since then yeah, it should look good but no it is delivered in a box. If they had to prepare every burger with so much care and love then it would not be a fastfood restaurant anymore.
And still, who cares about how it looks? Tasted the Maestro burger yet? That think looked like shit but tasted oh so sweet baby jesus good.
I find it hard to care when I use drive-thru most of the time.
Will there be big dicks drawn on the wall? It's not an authentic ghetto theme without them.

That maestro burger sure was nice. I don't really get the shit McDonald's gets. It's cheap, tastes fine and fills your stomach, what's there to complain about? Here in sweden there are some hard-ass food safety laws as well and I think that makes some kind of difference. When I went to MCD in the UK it was alot worse.

Can also depend on the location, my local Mc is very clean and friendly and the food is decently prepared as well. But when i was in central Amsterdam the Mc was a fucking mess and everything they served must have been in the kitchen for at least 2 hours.
Yes I definitely like it when the place I'm going to eat looks like it's been vandalized and is frequented by criminals.
Cause when im on the way home from work I can pop into mcdonalds and buy a cheeseburger for like £1 and just walk out and eat it on the way to my bus without being late or anything, I cant go to a reasutrant or any other place because I gotta wait. Its fast food for a reason, just gimmie it fast and I'm down.
I like mcdonalds. I don't care if it's crap, it's tasty
I personally prefer how mcdonald's is now.
Not sure if they've done that on purpose but the mcdonalds near the train station has that ghetto look but the one more in the center of the city has that chill af look just like from here

not to forget that table with the games
just a shitty concept store, restaurant chains do this all the damn time.
they'll change the design or the conventional sizing/style of a store, see how it's received, and if it is well-received they might roll it out to other areas.
nothing to get up in arms about - the other pictures people posted are exactly the same idea of a concept store, just with modernized flat designs instead of pretty unappealing graffiti and raw metal style.
This is one store in Redhill, not a cross-country international rollout of this design. It's a concept that they're trying out - since it's been received so poorly, it'll be gone in a month or two, no doubt.
Yes I definitely like it when the place I'm going to eat looks like it's been vandalized and is frequented by criminals.
because criminals frequent and conduct business in public restaurants all the time???
[sp]Reminds me of that scene in breaking bad how jesse thinks it is a wiser meeting point to meet up with tuco at a public restaurant to stop violence occurring than an abandoned junkyard. [/sp]
As I've learned from a neighborhood studies class, visual representation basically translates into perception most of the time. I wouldn't be surprised if classier folk began avoiding locations with this theme and shitty dumbfucks started showing up more at this one.
I get that they are trying to go for like an "art house" theme but it is executed very poorly and not a product of 2015. I guess manufacturing fake graffiti is cheaper than more intricate stuff like street murals. Like there are a few burger places around me that actually got real local artists to paint murals all over the walls and it pulls off the sketchy warehouse vibe perfectly. I guess this is what that would look like if all the soul was taken out of it.

Some people only have McDonalds and/or KFC near them.
Personally I'm a Subway guy, put all of them footlongs in my mouth.
i like the idea of the fake run down style but this is terrible. it's TOO fake
I don't see this happening where I live.
The maccy d around here had to devise a strategy to make the premises less appealing to chavs, because otherwise every track-suit clad wannabe gangster in the town would turn up, buy a 99p cheese burger each, then sit around smoking in the store, trashing the place, and taking turns to abuse or assault any member of staff that asked them to leave or other customer that tried to enter the restaurant.
In the end they just decided to try playing classical music constantly and it worked lmao.

Yo dawg that's phat.
Get it? Phat, Mcdonalds. I'm clever as fuck.
They should've hired a few grafitti artists and let them have free reign for an afternoon. Would've been better that the super swag style they have going now.

You see, McDonalds isn't meant to be that. At least in the US. McDonalds is pretty much the cheapest and fastest you can get while still tasting...okay. You can spend $3 and feel fairly satisfied by the end of it. And 10 minutes is considered a LONG wait, where normally its done in about 2-3 minutes if they aren't too busy. Its also hella convenient and consistent. You can almost GUARANTEE, one will be in almost any town (or several locations in a city), and they are open late and early morning, some even 24 hours.
For example, the small town I lived in, if you got the munchies at 10:30 PM, McDonalds was literally your only option, because they were even open later than the grocery store, which closed at 10, and the bars stopped serving food that late.
Even if there are better options, not everyone has access to them. But just about everyone has a McDonalds nearby.
the only thing i eat from mcd's anymore are the chicken selects because they are god's gift to earth and that was a tragic period when they were gone

Because proper burger places charge like ~14-17 bucks for one.
Looks more like a Nickelodeon sitcom set than an actual "ghetto" or McDonald's
Somewhere out there there has to still be a McDonald's that has not shed their 80's theme.
Red yellow white and brown.
It's not the worst thing I've ever seen, but my local Mcdonald's tend to do the earth-tone look and I've been to a few citrusy upscale looking ones that I enjoyed far more than anything else.
Citrus look is pretty cool. Earth-tone is okay. This is just strange.
So would they be cool if I came in and just started tagging on the walls? I want to help make it look authentic.

last year when I went back to my rural California hometown the McDonalds there is still in this style.
Actually I wonder if banksy will try to tag one of these.
banksy moving up that corporate ladder
I wonder if the criticism is moral outrage or just the fact that it's fucking corny
like, when you run a company and you're supposed to run a clean place with good lighting and an efficient staff, ghetto imagery doesn't exactly mesh well
if you want to be different than a tiled floor with plastic chairs and booths, go for a theme that gives a working mood. Theme it like a 50's diner, or make it a dark loungey place

Like what Darth-Veger said, this has a lounge vibe to it, it looks way better on the eyes and you can easily see how that center area there would be a cool place to chill at night with friends or some shit
works a whole lot better than fake metal wallpaper
the only way I can think that a more ghetto theme could work for a company is if it was company wide and they did something more like a poor, indie, dingy new york basement type deal
like I'm not an interior designer or anything but this shit seems kind of obvious
