What was wrong with the old style? I didn't think the restaurants looked that bad.
i have no idea how anyone can look at that and see the clean chairs and lamps they are using, along with the pointless greebling on the walls and think "wow, it is like i am actually in the ghetto! this is not safe for families!". do these people never leave their gated communities or something?
What exactly do you think McDonalds is trying to do here? I think you're confusing this for a haunted house. I don't think making people feel uncomfortable is the goal.
Yum yum. That back alley feel really gets me in the mood for mass produced burgers.
I miss pre-professional business look McDonalds, when all of the restaurants had that gimmicky yellow/red and playful look about them.
Some of the Mcdonalds i've gone to look really nice and elegant, who thought this stupid trashy shit was a good idea? I hope it doesn't come to a maccies near me.
industrial imagery has been out of style for over a decade
that's not true
It's a pretty bad idea, but I mean it could have been at least done 100x better if they weren't using those terrible looking chairs, or at least not using the colour spectrum of a babies vomit for them.
If they really wanted to be cool, they'd have a wall that was just blank that they could let customers make their own graffiti on.
I miss pre-professional business look McDonalds, when all of the restaurants had that gimmicky yellow/red and playful look about them.
It's depressing how every business has got to look sleek and minimalist these days. Nothing has personality anymore.
I've been to the mcdonalds mentioned in the article and it really isn't that bad. Just people complaining for the sake of complaining.

wait so where's the heroin addicts and crack fiends? if they want to do ghetto they gotta be authentic
Yes I definitely like it when the place I'm going to eat looks like it's been vandalized and is frequented by criminals.
Tbf if done right, the place being covered in graffiti can be pretty fucking cool. There's this shaved ice place I go to and they let you write whatever the fuck you want on like, the tables outside or a whole wall. It's neat.
Well, I don't exactly go to McDonalds for classy dining, or classy anything to be fair. So this doesn't bother me at all. Honestly guys, it's a McDonalds, it's really not fine dining and I'm sure you'll still eat your big mac meal without getting stabbed or something, it's literally just a new paint job.
wait so where's the heroin addicts and crack fiends? if they want to do ghetto they gotta be authentic
That's the clientele.
so I guess they put rusty cars on blocks in the parking lot? Also:
People who have not experienced actual ghettos have very silly definitions of "ghetto." "Oh my, some graffiti? Some industrial architectural elements? Honey, I don't think this McDonalds is a safe space for such upstanding citizens as ourselves." [editline]2nd November 2015[/editline]
If they really wanted to be cool, they'd have a wall that was just blank that they could let customers make their own graffiti on.
Several buildings in the revitalized district where I live do this on exterior walls. Some really nice work has come out of it. Even if it ain't your preferred artstyle, this graffiti adds color and vibrancy. Really ties in well with the whole feel of the area.
You know what I want? Art deco McDee's or B-King's. Ove me some art deco.
It's not a hood mcdons until they put one of these in
Too bad most of the McDonald's in Atlanta (especially around Five Points Station) looks like shit.
Every pub restaurant and chain in the UK have some sort of burger on their menu and generally they are shit. The meat is never right for one reason or another. Although they manage to decorate OK.
I swear one of the mcdonalds in my city has had this design for ages, Im sure of it.

theyve done this so they dont have to clean their mcdonalds anymore
