It isn't like that at all... You CLEARLY don't understand what you are arguing. It is like saying that your games are linked to your steam account and that you can use your steam account ANYWHERE. Let's look at the differences. Steam -> Buy game -> Game linked to Steam Account -> Login to steam on any computer to play Xbox One -> Buy Game -> Game linked to Xbox account -> login to xbox account on any xbox to play
ok caps lock yes you are correct, but ITS still not the same in the SENSE that steam has always been this way, xbox is now doing it. but yes you GOT me [editline]21st May 2013[/editline] but ya i did misunderstand that i thought the account would be tied to the box
That is true, although part of the reason nobody buys the Vita is because Sony fucked up their marketing (I didn't even know it existed until I wanted to buy Persona 4 Golden) and lack of good games. I can't even name five off the top of my head.
Which is a shame because the Vita really is a nice piece of hardware, it's just Sony fucked up with its pricing and the memory cards being expensive as dick.
So are games on steam
except there is Steam sales, you think there is going to be xbox game sales like Steam? If you think these are comparable you're crazy.
steam games arn't physical objects you can give to other people
They are if you buy them in the store. They are still tied to your account. So far this sounds exactly like steam, not sure what people are suddenly fussed over.

"it's okay if steam does it, but no not xbox! no one else can!" p.s. i didn't use any capital letters as to not offend you.
So are games on steam
But steam games are much cheaper most of the time due to the fact that you cant get used games.
Except Steam doesn't charge you a fee if you login to your friend's computer on your steam account, download a game, and play it
Yeah, and Xbox doesn't charge a fee if you log into your account on a different console. Your point?
LMFAO this is actually real fuck I hate console wars so much I mean I guess my next gen is a PS4 I don't give a fuck about Halo or Gears of War.... so I'm not missing out I guess
The best part about this whole thing? Sony's stock is going up, and Microsoft's is going down. SONY'S stock is going UP, after MICROSOFT'S conference..

What Xbox is doing is no different than what your Steam account is. If you are okay with Steam, you have no reason to complain about this. It's like Apple releasing the iPhone 6, but making it 600 feet tall. Samsungs stock would skyrocket.
What happens with multiple accounts on one system? I realize none of you can answer that, but I'm just putting it out there. My siblings and I share one 360, and I don't even have a LIVE account, so would each of us have to have LIVE and either buy the game or pay the fee? Or would we just have to share one account? Also, what'll happen to companies like GameFly?
consoles are done
Read before you jump on a bandwagon. What Xbox is doing is no different than what your Steam account is. If you are okay with Steam, you have no reason to complain about this.
There is a huge difference between Steam and the nextbox. I have to pay 300+ dollars to have the nextbox whereas the steam client is free. There is also the huge difference between physical game distribution and digital game distribution. Do you ever actually thing what would be involved with trading already activated steam games? Where I should be able to bring a disk I paid for to a friends house and not have to fuck with accounts or extra fees. Apples and oranges.
Read before you jump on a bandwagon. What Xbox is doing is no different than what your Steam account is. If you are okay with Steam, you have no reason to complain about this.
no because Steam is steam, it's for me to play alone in my bedroom the whole fucking point of a console is to game with your friends if I buy a game and want to take it to a friends house to show him how it plays LOL can't do it so fuck that fuck the xbox one
And thus does Microsoft join Sega and Atari.
The best part about this whole thing? Sony's stock is going up, and Microsoft's is going down. SONY'S stock is going UP, after MICROSOFT'S conference..
that's not very unusual...
Read before you jump on a bandwagon. What Xbox is doing is no different than what your Steam account is. If you are okay with Steam, you have no reason to complain about this.
Except Steam is nice because they have sales all the time that consoles never have. Most people are okay with not being able to resell/share their games if they got a great deal on it.
How is this any different from games that come on disk but activate with Steam?
BECUZ THIS ISNT VAVLE AND VAL:VE IS PERFERCUT AND DOES NOUIGHBING RONG
Except Steam is nice because they have sales all the time that consoles never have.
lmao im much happier buying games that i do not actually own because theyre cheaper!
so it's literally exactly how steam operates does no one read
BECUZ THIS ISNT VAVLE AND VAL:VE IS PERFERCUT AND DOES NOUIGHBING RONG
Good job disregarding everything else.
They are if you buy them in the store. They are still tied to your account. So far this sounds exactly like steam, not sure what people are suddenly fussed over.
steam doesn't charge you when you play your games on another computer.
What happens if your Xbox LIVE account gets permanently banned? Do you lose all of your games then?
Much like if you're banned on steam
BECUZ THIS ISNT VAVLE AND VAL:VE IS PERFERCUT AND DOES NOUIGHBING RONG
....No one's saying that. The huge differences are A.) This kills the used game market B.) Borrowing games or lending games to friends are fucking over You couldn't do that on PC anyway, so it's 100% different Microsoft has shot themselves in the foot with a 12 gauge if fanboys are actually gonna defend this one
lmao im much happier buying games that i do not actually own because theyre cheaper!
Because buying discs of PC games with CD keys is different.
steam doesn't charge you when you play your games on another computer.
nor does this? [editline]21st May 2013[/editline]
....No one's saying that. The huge differences are A.) This kills the used game market B.) Borrowing games or lending games to friends are fucking over You couldn't do that on PC anyway, so it's 100% different Microsoft has shot themselves in the foot with a 12 gauge if fanboys are actually gonna defend this one
the used game market is the worst thing to happen to gaming since Jack Thompson. Developers get no money from used game sales
i wrote one word in all caps and that makes me caps lock? good one. so it is wrong because the xbox didn't do this in the past? that isn't really a fair call. you are just wanting to hate the xbox now. "it's okay if steam does it, but no not xbox! no one else can!" p.s. i didn't use any capital letters as to not offend you.
i hate the xbox because i was a loyal fan for seven years and all I got to show for it is a stack 5 high of humboxes. i loved Xbox so much because all my friends had one and we could have ravishing lan partys and the ability to rent or bring a game someone needed was something I had taken for granted and will now be taken away it seems. if someone didnt wanna bring their whole xbox they could bring gow 3 and a controller, now to install the game on another box you will be charged a fee, and then can you play the game without the disk? or now have you paid to allow yourself to borrow a game? that is my problem now, it goes against all ive known and cherished xbox wise. and thanks for understanding my irrational fear of capitalization, either at the beginning of sentences or to imply emphasis like a teen girl arguing over Facebook. steam has always done it. we expect it of steam. its never been a thing to rent or borrow a pc game so its never been a problem, but seeing as this inhibits game borrowing, renting, resale, and ease of system linking, yeah its a bit of a problem to me sure edit: and I understand you can log into your account at a friends house and have the game, but when I refer to system linking i mean with or without an active internet connection
Is the fee just to tie the game to an account and play w/o the disk? Because thats what I understand by reading the article. The fee is only to install the game so you can play w/o te disk
no because Steam is steam, it's for me to play alone in my bedroom the whole fucking point of a console is to game with your friends if I buy a game and want to take it to a friends house to show him how it plays LOL can't do it so fuck that fuck the xbox one
I grew up in the console age of going to friends houses to play console video games and whatever. I'll tell you now that internet wasn't a thing of consoles. Today, consoles are more online than they are in person with friends. The Wii is the one console that has really stuck to the aspect that you play in the same room as people and you play together. Both Sony and Xbox are molded more towards playing games online. For as much as I would like to agree that consoles are meant to play together in the same room, they really aren't geared for that sort of play anymore.
no because Steam is steam, it's for me to play alone in my bedroom the whole fucking point of a console is to game with your friends if I buy a game and want to take it to a friends house to show him how it plays LOL can't do it so fuck that fuck the xbox one
the fuck are you rattling on about? I have my XBL account on basically all of my friends 360s so when I go over I can sign in there, what makes you think this will work any differently?
