I should really set up some sort of protocol in case I died. I just realized that I have quite a few online friends who, if I died one day, would never be given any sort of closure. Not sure how I would set that up without compromising security, though.

Actually on second thought I have a couple as friends on Facebook. I'm sure the word would get around eventually.
I think there are services that send out emails if you don't check in every 6 months or so.
I'd sign up for it but I'd end up forgetting about it
Someone should make a thread for deceased Steam goers, Youtubers, Facepunchers, etc. Probably in Fast Threads.
I think it'd be really interesting to have an insight on the world of dead accounts.
So anyone want to do this? I would do it but I don't have the time to update to OP and stuff. I know people (at least 6 seeing the ratings) would like to see something like this.
The title makes it sound like there were 3 trains that died horribly.
I sincerely hope that he rots in hell, he was racing to beat a train while drunk and he had a god damned passenger.
I feel awful for his family and that's about it.
yeah because he probably had all of his wits about him when he made that decision huh what a fucker I hope he rots.
cough.
You guys saying ____ has not been on for ___ days must be dead do realize that does not mean they are necessarily dead.
They could:
Be in prison
Busy with a job
Bored of Facepunch or Steam

Or much more.
Have any Facepunchers passed away out of curiosity?
His last post was the day before he died, holy hell.
My mom's cousin shot himself, and his Facebook is still active two years later.
It's weird, seeing it there still; It doesn't comment and isn't active but it's there all the same, stuck in time.
Seeing all of these young people in this thread that died is such bullshit.
Watching a few of his videos now, weird to think there'll never be another video by him again.
Am I apparently the only one that thinks this fucker is far from a decent person? Fictitious youtube persona aside - this retard was fuckin piss drunk, driving around in his truck (most likely recklessly), with two considerably younger aged people than himself whom he could have possibly known only previously on the internet(?) - ends up trying to "race to beat a train" ... Who the fuck races to beat a train at 2am in the middle of no where? You have to be pretty fuckin dull to piece something like that together.
Am I really the only one irked about about this?
Half a million people gave a fuck about your part time youtube channel...
You full time erased two other equal human beings from this world, all because youre a twit?.. I give no RIP...
It's one of those "respect for the dead" things I guess. If he was still alive everyone would be like "What a dumb fuck!" but since he's dead it's just a respect thing to say "Oh how horrible he'll be missed" etc. What he did was fucking ridiculously dumb but it does still suck he's dead

Wait.. he died? Holy shit.
Death by your own stupidity is one of the worst ways to go.
I have seen good men die that way and I have killed men that way.
But I don't want to talk about that. I may have never known this man, but my heart goes out to his family and the families of the other unforgotten dead. May they find peace within death.
Bene quiescant, qui diligebant me.
I dont know why you have made drastic assumptions in you're reply. But do you realize how big of a deal this is? If you thoroughly read the article, and my reply, and get rid of whatever it is in your head blocking out the part where he consciously makes a decision to get behind the wheel of a truck after drinking alcohol, going out into the country in the middle of the night - to play chicken WITH A FUCKING TRAIN - at THIRTY years old, with the son and daughter of two broken, grieving families. Imagine the police called you at 230 in the morning, woke you up and said that some ignorant prick who made his money chopping together youtube videos, had just killed your 20 year old daughter.
As for ... ""Good, he's dead. This world needs fewer retards," because he brought entertainment to people and you are just here saying he deserved to die."
Focus on the issue here - I have been driving for 4 years now, every time I am drinking alcohol I make the concrete decision to not get behind the wheel of a car.. Know why? Because I dont wanna fuckin kill someone. And I really REALLY dont want to kill two people.
Yknow what, dont even fuckin try and spin this, all this writings gotten me pissed off, this guy is an idiot, because he is ignorant and disrespectful to the value of life.
You're an idiot for bringing the line "Have you ever thought that maybe death is a bad thing? " into this topic. Read a little more; think a little more.
... im going for a smoke
Sure, it was fucking retarded. The most stupid thing he has ever done, but there is no need to say he deserved to die or "Good, he's dead. This world needs fewer retards," because he brought entertainment to people and you are just here saying he deserved to die.
Have you ever thought that maybe death is a bad thing?
I'm just sitting here refreshing his twitter, waiting for him to be like "Hey, dumbasses, I'm not dead."
every time I am drinking alcohol I make the concrete decision to not get behind the wheel of a car.. Know why? Because I dont wanna fuckin kill someone. And I really REALLY dont want to kill two people.
everybody handles alcohol differently, projecting your own unique experience is useless.
It's quite strange that I do think about the friends I've had online for over 6-7 years now and consider them just as close as friends I have in real life and that I depend on others to let them know if anything happens to me.
Like theres people on FP that would like to know if I'm hurt, or even dead cause we talk or discuss things or even plan meetups. Dying is a weird thing to me cause I could literally be doing nothing dangerous but get hit by a drunk driver or anything.
We just had a 19 year old killed last weekend here, Was just sitting in his car and WHAM drunk driver.
Remember Anti-social Fatman?
He's been dead for almost 3 years. :(
It's been officially three years now. Oh man. ;_;
There are dead people currently on FP right now. It is a little bit spooky.........

Or they could be playing GTA V on their PS3/360.
If he lived in Britain, he'd still be alive now.
The trains are always late over here.
I found this comment on his youtube channel.
A train is a better death than old age, friend. I'd never• watched your videos before, but i'm watching them now as i eat breakfast, and you have a great way about you. Rest in peace.
Getting crushed by a train is surely the• right way to go and less painful and dramatic than dying of old age, are you fucking bonkers?

I'm fairly sure he means that he'd rather have a quick death than die slowly in old age, possibly with dementia amongst other problems
The comment about train death being preferable tells you a lot about that person posting the comment. I guess it's all about how the driver dies, who cares about the passengers and what they might have wanted. Maybe they would be willing to have a horrible old age death if it meant having a long interesting life first? Who cares what this does to the families left behind?
It's okay, the driver was spared dying in a nursing home, that's the important thing.
